I can’t imagine a texture that works better with a normal map than with a bump map to reach realism. I sometimes try to see the effect of the normal map and I’ve never noticed it. And your video just explains it perfectly. Normal map tells the render program where the light bounces to.

How did you do the silhouettes for the entourage? Would love to learn how to do this.

SketchUp has ways to set that up via 'face me' components. Enscape just renders that.

That was so helpfull jo But When I'm using normal maps for bump effect of the material , for some materials bump amount slider is not showing up. Y ??

THANKS FOR THE VIDEO, JUST ONE QUESTION, YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NORMAL AND A HEIGHT MAP IN OTHER SOFTWARE, FOR EXAMPLE FOR A BRICK WALL USUALLY THE BUMP INFORMATION THAT DEALS WITH MORTAR BETWEEN BRICKS IS STORED IN A HEIGHT MAP, AND THE FINER DETAILS WITHIN ONE BRICK ARE STORED IN A NORMAL MAP ..... MANY PBR MATERIALS HAVE BOTH HEIGHT AND NORMAL MAPS FOR THIS SAME REASON.... PROBLEM IS THAT ENSCAPE USES EITHER NORMAL OR HEIGHT MAP, NOT THE TWO IN SAME TIME, SO IS THERE A WAY TO MERGE THE TWO INFORMATIONS INTO ONE HEIGHT MAP, OR ONE NORMAL MAP SO THAT WE LOSE NOTHING ?
@JosephKim4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for letting me know, I did not know this. I am not aware of the method to merge them two...

Hi! which is better? using bump maps downloaded from the internet or using the automatic albedo of enscape? thanks a lot!
@JosephKim4 жыл бұрын
Depends on whag you are trying to achieve! Because the bump that uou are trying to do can be different from what the image is showing.

Joseph do you if there is a way to get more plant material for Enscape? Or if you’re able to edit the trees so that they don’t have leafs? I am aware that you can download a few leafless ones from sketchUp but I am not sure if you can do what I just mention above? Also, how much did it cost you to build your slim computer? Sorry for so many question! I just stumbled into your channel and I plan on watching all of your videos tonight, please continue doing your great work! Landscape architecture here haha
@JosephKim6 жыл бұрын
Awesome. I love questions, so please continue to watch and ask away :) My computer was around 2k. But I think you can shave off some costs here and there. I think the best way for leafless tree would be to get SketchUp tree components and remove leafs. That shouldn't be too hard to do. Enscape will include more essets in their library. Suggest to them the ones you want!

Hi Joseph, a simple and concise explanation with examples, thanks for your video. From watching your video I would like to know how you utilize or obtain the silhouette people as opposed to the heavily detailed blocks. Thanks for you help.

Do you have solution for repetitive tiling?
@JosephKim3 жыл бұрын
You mean for seamless texture?
@dexterramos3223 жыл бұрын
Yes. Some pbr materials (like weathered bricks) are already seamless but you can still see the repetitiveness of them whenever you use it on bigger or longer wall. Is there a solution for it like how vray does using stochastic tiling.
