One thing to note for console (I can only vouch personally for Xbox as it's what I play on for console), is that saved replays aren't permanent either. From what I've read they are only good until the next update. At which point, Xbox will prompt you to delete older "corrupted" saved replays. Basically, after the update, the engine is now different than the one your recorded replay was using, hence it can no longer play it. So, if you are thinking a saved replay is permanent, it is not and it varies based on when the next update will be released. So, if you want them more permanently saved, do an actual recording as Toby suggests. Also, the Xbox save replay feature is pretty inconsistent. It wouldn't save any of my replays for like a week. And then today, all of a sudden, it's working again. Just remember to hop out often as you only get 10 replays on console and then it starts over-writing unsaved replays. I sometimes get nose down in a big gaming session and think I'll check my replays at the end, only to realize I played more than 10 rounds from the game I wanted to review, and now it's over-written.

Also, I observed the funniest incident on my replay yesterday. I was coming in through Brutal Bastion, into the big North building, running up the stairs when suddenly, without any sound or visual audio warnings, the entire stairwell blew up! I was playing builds so starting building as I saw Deadpool come to finish me off. It was a close fight, but he edged me out by like 20hp and got the Elim. It took me so by surprise I had to go back and figure out how I didn't hear or see any indication of him coming. He did try to rocket ram me INDOORS after I'd built-up, so my first thought was that he rocket rammed in on top of me. But that wasn't possible as I didn't hear it coming at all. On looking at the replay, I could see the marker for him on the map, but it took me like 5 minutes to actually find him. He'd opened a chest on the top of the stairs. Left the items there, and then planted C4 all around the area. Then went and hit under the stairwell to wait for a victim to spring his trap on. My man sat there for a WHILE waiting to spring that trap LOL. My initial response was "what the hell man, an ambush? Really?". But I gotta respect the commitment to the trap. It worked.

I like turning on damage numbers and player profiles so you can see where others are through walls and how muvh damage each shot did. I also change it to gameplay camera angle so it looks like it did when i played the match. Someone said you can follow anyone's whole game if you stsrt with them from spawn island.

My PS5 and old PS4 only save the most recent 5 games. It always tells me a couple are corrupt and asks if I want to delete. I say yes and then I can watch my most recent game. Often the total # of my elims are not presented accurately. I'm interested if other PS users have the same 'bugs'. Other than that the replays seem to run okay.

Hi, a question, on one game I hit a cool sniper shot and I want to have a clip of that but when I use the recording tool it apears as a noscope, It doesn't show the sniper scope, is there any way to do this?

I think it's a bug with this seasons guns :( don't show scopes because of attachments. You might try staying on your character the WHOLE game and not skipping around, that makes the scope render properly.

Hey Toby, fantastic video like always. Really useful. I was just wondering, could you make another video about tips on how to detect cheaters? Actually, this is what I use this replay feature most for, to check if the player who eliminated me was actually cheating. But often times I still have no certainty even after watching the replay many times. I still report them usually, but what if I'm wrong. That'd be so helpful, if you could share some tips on how to be make sure if someone is actually cheating or not. Thank you for all the work you put into your amazing videos! 🙏

one can never be certain, but I look up the stats of suspicious players. if someone's aim and gameplay is insane but their stats are from someone who rarely if ever wins, cheating is likely.
