The "mouse cursor" Callout feature at 16:33 is key. I think I've had problems with this in the past because it doesn't work if you have nested tracks, which in my opinion is not the best-designed part of Screenflow. I guess I need to stay away from nesting to get the features I want. Thanks! - Dane

Thanks for this great tutorial Dusty. I'm getting back into editing instead of using an editor and needed a refresher and some new knowledge. Screenflow is the tool that has felt easiest for the features I use the most. I like to keep things simple and do fast basic editing, but Screenflow has some "fancy" features (fancy for my skills, anyway) that don't confuse me or take too much time. Excellent! One thing that annoys me is why my next recording clips do NOT recall the frame sizes of the previous. First I record a PowerPoint and myself but as soon as I start a new recording it Defaults to FULL screen and me in full size. VERY ANNOYING having to reset this for every recording clip. Hi, I work with three screens. I want to include a Google slideshow in Screenflow. which tutorial can I consult for that? If I have my slideshow on screen 1, Screenflow opens on the other screen. So I can't see my slideshow. Or do I have to import it into Screenflow?

You mention that you record the audio separately. How does that work when doing a screencast? Do you have the audio recording software up at the same time as screenflow? How do you sync the audio and video?

Your choice for a video file is a bit confusing in that it looks like an audio file wave... This may be a small thing but I found it distracting. Otherwise your tutorial is great!

Dusty, I'm a fan of Screenflow and I've been waiting for ages to learn how to fade the audio correctly, so I'm glad I watched to the end. I do have a question - do you typically use the smooth volume levels on your voice? I found that it seemed to add unwanted background noise and I wasn't too happy with the results so I stopped using it. Thanks again, you're brilliant!

Ilene, I really never use the smooth voice option. I almost always record my audio separately in Audition!

I love the zoom up from the highlighted area in Callouts, that's a feature impossible to make in camtasia unless you duplicate and cut your ENTIRE media file

Hey Dusty! Thanks for this very helpful tutorial. I just bought Screenflow and it looks very good to me. I want to make training-video's and some meditations on video and podcasts. You told something short about using Adobe Audition for more flexibility in mixing audio. I love to try it out, but...How can I combine Adobe together with Screenflow, how is that process working? I just record them seperately. I basically hit record with Screen flow and then at the same time hit the record button with audition. Then I just import the cleaned up audio from Audition into Screenflow!

Yes you can record screen and talk at the same time, and yes for audio quality quiet place is preferred.
