How to Use Spotify Clips

This is not available on my profile - why are all of your new features only available to big artists? This should be highlighted explicitly in your promotional videos for this, as well as your Discover Mode videos. I love Spotify but there has been a lack of transparency with these new features. If there is some way to gain access to these features that I'm not aware of that would be super helpful - thanks!

yes ,i can't see the new features on my profile as well, it's annoying how they make it seem like it's available for all artists but it's not clear though. i really hope it's they can make it more clear

I love how Spotify doesn't even bother to look at or respond to any of the artists here who are asking for access to the service. We pay to release our own music and should get the perks that we are here for like any signed artist..

I agree - I’ve been wanting to use discovery mode though and it looks like they only let people use it if they have 25,000 monthly listeners. Really goes against what they say about supporting smaller artists..

I hope so too. But I fear it all ends with profitibility. Providing services for uploading clips (although only 30 sec) is expensive, and Spotify has to ensure it is profit. So in the beginning, only the bigger artists are prioritized in the roll out of most new tools, to ensure maximum ROI and engagement, before rolling out to smaller acts, because every feature adds an expense to Spotify, and the teams need to priority net profit of every feature.

Valid point. Unfortunately, due to conflict of interest they will always catered first to the part owners of Spotify: Major Music Companies. Main reason why a new platform is merging.., it will be like Zoom taking over Skype no one will see it coming just prolific innovators. 💎

Yes i agree that it should be available to everyone it's disappointing when they announce a new tool and then you can't have access to it if you're not big enough as an artist

All the independent artists were so happy to see this feature but Spotify only enabled this feature for Big Artists? Like? Big artists already have the privilege of going to an interview and telling their music, their story and where they got their inspiration from. So why we, independent artists, can’t get this feature? It just doesn’t make sense.

Smaller artists should get new features first to help them grow. The A-List artists get enough rewards as it is, like, idk, editorial placements, brand deals, streams in the billions.... Would be nice if you reversed the role for once. 🤷‍♂

When does an artist gain access to 'clips' and why does the video seem to suggest that it's very easy to upload clips? Or am I missing something? It might make sense to offer the option to a select group during the beta phase, but after waiting for more than a year, you start to lose interest.

Spotify doesn't give a shit about their small artists. Smaller artists that working almost too hard to not getting anywhere? BUT....they do care so much about big artists like Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Post Malone etc. They want to help THEM to big grower. Aaah isn't that wonderful? Helping bigger artists....THAT DOESN'T NEED PROMOTION....!!!!!!!! Wtf are you doing Spotify? You clearly doesn't give a single f about we smaller artists that NEED these options and features. So Spotify made a clip for me, at the worst point in the song, where it is not the part that will hook listeners in, and probably give them the wrong idea of what genre the track is. So I go to find out how to make sure I upload a proper clip featuring the best part of the song / remedy Spotifys mistake. Apparently I’m not worth giving control of the feature to, but have to deal with Spotify ruining my chance to make a good impression with my new releases. Thanks Spotify 🎉🖕

Youre promoting supporting independent small artist but not practicing it hypocrites !
