I love your interpretation of ING's logo, but I'm afraid it isn't true. The ING used to be a state-operated bank here in the Netherlands, when its name used to be "Rijkspostspaarbank" (Governmental post savings bank) or "Postbank". It privatised and became an internationally operating bank: "International Netherlands Group". The colour orange and the lion represent its Dutch roots.

Minimalism is not the key to design everything at its best....sometimes is not the right choise to comunicate with the target...I personally feel like it all has become so bland and unmemorable, with very very few ecceptions

I didn't suggest minimalism is the only way. Being memorable doesn't always equate to a minimal design. However, it has a lot of use cases in the modern world, hence why most brands have streipped away their logos over the decades. Logo design isn't art, and a brand identity isn't about being exciting or aesthetic pleasing.
