I used this for the first time today, it's very good!! When not in use though I switch the power off. Upon turning it on again to use next time do I have to press the smart humidity mode button each time to cycle through to the level I want (I set it to 50%). Earlier when I pressed the power on it was already on 50 but stopped for some reason after an hour. The display showed 57 though. When I checked again I pressed the humidity mode button to cycle from 40-70 and it kicked on again. I thought it starts working as soon as you power it on?

When you turn it on it will default to 50, unless you have set it to something else previously (it remembers your previous setting). You can always check what you have it set to by pressing the droplet button once, your target relative humidity will flash up for 5 seconds. To be honest, there is no need to turn it off, just let it run and leave it set to 50%rh, it will then turn itself on and off as required. Hope this helps.

This product has resolved all the humidity issues in my home, I can't fault it for that. However my Arete one 20L is incredibly loud compared to the one in this video, it has always been like that from day one. The entire case also reverbs and shakes, customer service told me it's normal. I tried to put some sound dampening material underneath but it hasn't made much of a difference. It is also much louder than the stated decibel rating, did I get a faulty unit?

I currently have the humidity target level at 40%. Once it reached 37%, the dehumidifier turned off, as expected. Within 5-6 minutes or so, the dehumidifier tuned back on again, and when I checked the humidistat, it was all the way up to 45%. How did the humidity increase that much within a span of 6 minutes? Should I try increasing the target setting?

When the reading is 3% below the target the fan will turn off, it will not run forever.

humid air normally fills up the dry air areas really quick, so it was probably the general air normalising, hopefully if it's run consistently it should bring down the general air's humidity down so it wont increase so quick

I have been using one of these for a few months. However the 7-segment displays that display the humidity level arent working correctly and some segments aren't lighting up, meaning its difficult to see what level things are actually at. It's a decent dehumidifier, but im disappointed that the display isnt working after minimal use

Recently purchased the 25l Arete, I set it on smart laundry at 10pm for 6 hours but this morning at 6am the machine was still running I thought it turned itself off after 6 hours? Please advise

Thank you for your comment, it could be the air filter is blocked or the unit is on an uneven surface. Clean the filter and or put the dehumidifier on a flat surface. A dehumidifier will also be noisier on wooden floors than on carpet.

Yes you can, by having the HEPA filter in place this will happen automatically.

@@spitz5183 as it is a combined device we have not had it tested in a CADR laboratory. the HEPA filter is though a H13 HEPA filter for better cleaning.

Thank you for your purchase. The dehumidifier has two fan speeds and if it is already in fan speed one then you will not notice any difference.

Im looking for a dehumidifier to keep the room at 50% rather than specifically for drying clothes. Can this keep a room at a certain humidity or is there a different model more suited to this?

Yes it can. If this is a room in a domestic house then this will be possible. the relative humidity will fluctuate as the room temperature and moisture content changes. But you should be able to achieve good enough control around 50%rh. Museums would be looking to achieve a target at +/-5%rh for example.

Just set mine up last night at 9pm in a 1930's house that size and condensation was virtually gone this morning! There was a tiny bit at the bottom of the windows in the room we were sleeping in, but nothing compared to having to window-vac every room twice a day. Our window quality isn't great either. Well worth the £180 and months of waiting for it to come back into stock. Quiet enough to run outside our bedroom but the slight rotary noise would annoy me in the same bedroom, even on the lower fan speed. House feels less clamy and fresher too. Our relitive humidity level was 78 at the start. We briefly hit 55 before I took a shower so not seen it turn off yet but that fan speed does keep changing.

A slip of the tounge in the video! The left hand one is the smart humidity for controlling the room relative humidity, the right hand one is the Smart Laundry button. This is clarified later in the video.

I can understand your logic concerning nighttime use and cheaper electricity but from a humidity point of view it does not necessarily make sense. You create moisture during the day - washing, bathing, showering, cooking, drying laundry, being active etc. What you don't want to happen is for all that moisture to be released into the air and then absorbed by organic materials because no dehumidifier is running. This would mean that the things you are trying to protect will absorb the moisture and potentially be damaged (clothes, walls, timbers, furniture, books, papers, paintings etc). The best way to do things is to set the humidistat to 55%rh and let the machine decide when to turn on or off. The other big advantage here (and one that will save you on your heating bills) is that dry air is cheaper to heat than damp air, therefore heating the space during the day will become cheaper because it will require less energy to do so and your stored up heat will last longer. Hope this helps.

The fan will be turned off so it will not be cleaning the air at that point

Hi, I have had my dehumidifier for 6 days and I have noticed today that the humidity in the room is not decreasing, even though the filter is clean and I am in the normal mode with a target humidity significantly lower than the current humidity. The tank is also not filling up with water. Do you know how I can resolve this?

This is normal, as the house starts to dry out all of the organic materials in the house (books, timber, fabrics, furniture, clothes, walls etc) start to release moisture that they have been holding onto. This keeps the humidity higher and the machine plateaus for a while. This is normal and a good sign.

Thank you for your quick response. The current humidity is 58 and the target humidity is 45, and the dehumidifier usually collects water at this point and the humidity decreases. However this is not happening anymore. Surely it should be trying to decrease the humidity to the target humidity level as it was before?

@@sophiafield1815 it will do, please leave it turned on and see where you are later in the week. You can always check your set point by pressing the droplet button once (it will flash up for five seconds).

You confuse people as you stated the 2nd button from the left is the smart laundry button, no it isn't ! The 2nd button is to adjust the humidity level you want & the smart laundry is the one with the clothing item picture as you correctly state further on.

You keep calling the second button 'smart humidity button' 'SMART LAUNDRY.' in error 0:16 At the beginning when explaining the buttons and again 4:46 to come out of 'SMART LAUNDRY' Where you again press the SMART HUMIDITY & call it quote 'Press smart laundry. It's confusing enough when coming here for tips so giving the wrong name for the buttons doesn't help. This should be edited.
