I have a diesel tank for an antique diesel engine that has pinholes/rust. Will this sealer work with diesel fuel?

The benefit of the Gas Tank Sealant kit is it has more than just the acid needed for this. You can get everything to do this process from start to finish and know it works together and will last.

@@eastwoodcoyes I have your sealant kit. I just used toilet bowl cleaner instead of muratic acid. I finished the job today. Etched it, acetoned it and sealed it. Tank is in shop curing as I type this. Great kit btw thank you fellas

Just remember when diluting acids = ALWAYS ADD ACID! In other words if you want a 20x dilution, fill a container with 1900 mL of water THEN add the 100 mL of acid. The reaction is much more violent if you reverse the order!

I have a thick layer of gasoline varnish and rust. Do I need to use denatured first or will metal wash get it all?

i have a bottle of ospho, will that work instead of the muriatic? i use it on everything else metal around the barn. its basically phosphoric acid, turns iron oxide into iron phosphate which is easily paintable. not sure if being in a gas tank would be an issue or for the sealer stuff to stick to.

Hello sorry for bothering! How do you recommend to fixed a hair crack line but like 2 inches long on Taurus V6 engine wall running? I bought direct to Eastwood Co, the MIG 135 welder but I haven't also assembled, thanks for any help.

Fill the tank with water and welded the crack

Do you need to dry the tank between products

There's only one wet step. You want to throw in the Acetone while the tank is still wet with Fast Etch. -JD
