If that's the case, I do not recommend using it. Instead, I recommend investigating the root causes of your acne, such as lack of sleep, stress or mental health issues, environmental factors (air & water quality, washing detergent, etc), or your diet (such as consuming too much added sugar, processed food, fast food, or any food intolerance; like soy, milk, bread (gluten), eggs, chicken, etc).

This is totally opposite to what I read everywhere, that oil always follows the moisturiser because it locks the water that moisturiser provides…
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet

Yes, but this is the truth: 99.9% of information out there is either marketing or misleading. Many skincare companies follow old guidelines with outdated formulation advice, which no longer holds true for newer formulations as the ingredients have changed or have been separated. This makes the advice incorrect. Moreover, older individuals often ignore new advice and findings, remaining steadfast in their ways, which leads to many problems-not considering the influence of shareholders, politics, and profits, etc. Anyway, the reason for this is because we have plant oils, and the plant oils that The Ordinary offers, such as rosehip seed oil, can penetrate the uppermost layers of the skin. However, when you use a moisturizer, it usually contains silicones and other oils (such as mineral oils) that are heavier and stay on the skin surface, thereby also sealing in the plant oil.

Keep it simple! You have too many products. Focus on 1-2 treatments to target your skin concerns. You do not need the entire range; using too many can only lead to sensitivities.

hello, I really need your help cause I am fairly new to all this skincare thing. please guide me. My skincare routine includes: 1) wash my face with cerave SA cleanser 2) spray with rose water 3) aveeno lotion 4) rosehip seed oil Please let me know if this routine is okay? cause I read on google SA should not be used with rosehip seed oil now I am confused. Also, this is for my nighttime routine and skin is dry. TIA :) I really hope you reply.

Hmm, I've never heard that SA shouldn't be used with rosehip seed oil. Did they provide a reason? Regardless, here's what I would suggest: Clean your face. Pat it dry with a clean towel. Use a bean-sized amount of the lotion and mix it with 2-3 drops of oil in the palm of your hand. Apply the mixture evenly over your face. That's it!

Hiii can you please help me I am a teen and I just started doing skincare. I am not sure which oil to buy from the ordinary I have oily skin and I have acne and acne scars (mostly scars) i have been using a tea tree cleanser but it’s not exactly helping and I have been applying vitamin c serum it just makes my skin red and irritates Please help
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet 11 ай бұрын
Which Vitamin C serum are you using? Oil-based products might not be the best choice for your oily skin. The Ordinary recently launched a new moisturizer with a gel formulation, which you can find here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5PUi6xtoKaZg8U. Additionally, I would suggest using a gentle retinol cream for the acne scars, such as the Good Molecules Gentle Retinol Cream. Your routine could look like this: AM: Cleanse face with The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser. Pat dry. Apply The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. If you have extended sun exposure, use sunscreen. PM (2-3 times per week): Cleanse face with The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser. Pat dry. Apply Good Molecules Gentle Retinol Cream. Wait 2-3 minutes. Apply The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. PM (when not using the retinol cream): Cleanse face with The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser. Pat dry. Apply The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA.

Yes u can. I use it after my moisturizer
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Жыл бұрын
@@jeanjenniea no. Plant-based oils are typically applied before moisturizers in a skincare routine due to their specific properties and the way they interact with the skin. These oils, such as argan oil, jojoba oil, or rosehip oil, are rich in fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins that can nourish the skin, reduce inflammation, and even out skin tone. When applied before a moisturizer, these oils can deeply penetrate the skin, delivering their beneficial properties right into the skin cells. Moreover, they help trapping in moisture and enhancing the sealing effects of the moisturizer applied afterwards.
@jeanjenniea
@jeanjenniea Жыл бұрын
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial I'm not going to argue with u. I use it that way and many other women I know do as well. As u should use water-based products BEFORE oil based. As water and oil don't mix. I learned that in basics of beauty school. So pop off n do it ur way. And I'll do it mine. And YES u can.
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Жыл бұрын
@@jeanjenniea This is no longer the case if the moisturiser contains ingredients like petrolatum, dimethicone, shea butter, or other fats. In this situation, you have an emulsion, which is essentially a mixture of different components that makes it heavier. As a result, emulsion moisturisers are applied after oils. Unfortunately, this is often taught incorrectly in beauty schools, leading to many people being unaware of this fact. However, using them in the opposite order can make them less effective or ineffective. To avoid these issues, the easiest option is usually to mix the formulations or simply use one of them.
