Love your reminder about sensitive skin types ❤️❤️ Cause not everybody knows that peptides can trigger a mild inflammatory response and sometimes this is not well tolerated 🤷🏻♀️ Tysm for the video Melissa 💋🤍
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet10 ай бұрын
Hmm, I've never heard about that particular aspect of peptide serums, but yes, technically, a mild inflammatory response or skin irritation can occur with any skincare ingredient. Still, this issue, especially with this serum and the eye serum, seems more common, so there might be something else in these formulations causing these sensitivities. I think it's either because people use too much of it, or they combine it with many other treatments, making them too potent, which then causes issues. So, the skin may be overwhelmed.

Hi Melissa 🙂 I always look you up first when using a new product. Could you please help me (again!)? I'm very curious and love learning from your videos. My questions, if I may ask and if you have time, is can I use Marine Hyalauronics from T.O. instead of hyalauronic acid prior to this peptide? Someone gave me a bottle of the MH today. Or, could I drop some regular T.O. HA in my palm, and spray thermale water on it to dilute it and make it less viscous? I find regular HA too sticky and thick, even a little. It seems to break me out and I don't know why. Or, could I use T.O. Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner to hydrate beforehand? I use incidecoder (thats INCI DECODER) to pour over the ingredient lists, and am already wondering if the T.O.'s ingredients in both the MH and Milky Toner go against what you've mentioned even though they're marketed as hydrating. Thank you so much for educating us. Your skin is beautiful ❤, and I think we can all see how much work you put into your tutorials and download sheets. I recommend people visit your channel whenever I'm on another skin care short or channel, you deserve so many subscribers. 😊 Sorry for the long post. Ingredients posted below if you don't feel like hunting for them. From INCI DECODER: The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner. "This formulations key ingredient is a 30% concentration of saccharomyces ferment - a yeast ferment technology with 3% fermented n-acetylglucosamine (nag). Nag exfoliates skin surface to help smooth uneven texture and boost radiance. Saccharomyces ferment 30% milky toner also gives all-day lasting hydration, and promotes a stronger skin barrier after 8 hours* after one application. Supported by squalane, this formulation is especially good for dry skin types." Ingredients overview Aqua (Water), Yeast Extract, Squalane, Lauryl Glucoside, Myristyl Glucoside, Polyglyceryl-6 Laurate, Isoceteth-20, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin. Hey! :) Yes, you can use TO Marine Hyaluronics or their Milky Toner instead of Hyaluronic Acid-that's fine! :) However, please make sure not to apply your skincare products (except for your cleanser) to 'damp' skin. Ensure that each product fully absorbs into the skin before applying the next one, as applying too soon can lead to dryness or even sensitivities.

@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you, thank you, so much for your reply! I appreciate your time and knowledge so much. Visiting a dermatologist is a huge luxury where I live, one that only very wealthy people can afford and even they will be put on a half a year long waiting list. It's interesting trying to learn more myself but OMG it's difficult researching skin care when you have no actual education to begin with 🥲 It can take hours and hours on just one product and then you notice an ingredient you need to go down another 3 hour rabbit hole on to understand a little more because you're not a chemist 😂 I keep trying though because of my difficult skin. You're the best! 🥰

Thank you, Melissa, love peptide serums but unfortunately copper peptide irritates my skin. I use Matrixyl 3000 and argireline together in the morning and no irritation after those ❤ I have a question for you about the bands on your wrists, I usually end up all wet after washing my face and they seem like a good idea to prevent that. Where do you get them?
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet10 ай бұрын
Yes, that's essentially what I just replied to in another comment. But this issue also happens often with their new eye serum, according to my comments. I also experienced it when I used it too often, so it might be another ingredient in these serums, or possibly the combination, or overuse. And I've had the same issues with water, although I've perfected the technique over the years, haha. 😂 I got mine on Amazon.de, but unfortunately, that particular set seems to be no longer available. 😞 It would be something like this: wristbrella.com/

They have a similar function, which when used together may cause sensitivities. Therefore, it's best to use your Peptide Serum in the AM and Tretinoin in the PM or use both on alternate nights.

I would still recommend the CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion. I'm glad to hear that you like the cleansing gel; it's also one I use nearly daily unless I'm testing other products. It's fantastic. However, their moisturizers, especially the Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water Gel, are also great. But, I think they might not be sufficient for your needs. well, I've been using cerave for very dry skin (even though mine is normal to dry) for almost two years, but many people say that this cream makes them break out, so I'm starting to wonder if I should change it. And what do you mean that they might not be sufficient for my needs?
@dannyadvice9 ай бұрын
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet under " them: I meant beauty of joseon creams (I forgot to write it)
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet9 ай бұрын
@@dannyadvice Well, if it works for you, then there's no need to change it. I mean, if you research skincare products and avoid using them because some people have experienced breakouts, then you might end up not using any skincare products at all. It really depends on your personal skin tolerance to the individual ingredients. So, essentially, watching reviews can be useless; that's why I also don't do it. As for the Beauty of Joseon Water Gel, as the name suggests, it's a gel. Usually, these are lightweight and often not moisturizing enough for dry skin because of their formulations and ingredients. But in your case, I would just continue using the CeraVe cream, especially if it works well for you.

@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet9 ай бұрын
I recommend using either your Retinol or Tretinoin, but not both, even though you do not want to use them on the same day. Keep the routine simple. How often you can use your Tretinoin depends on the strength and skin tolerance. Start with 2-3 times per week and increase the frequency over time if needed and tolerated.

It's not that you burn your face, but rather that using too many different potent treatments is what causes the irritation. However, the same "conflicts" apply here as demonstrated in the video.

What will happen if someone use date over skin care products? Does it make their complexion darker?
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet9 ай бұрын
Well, all kinds of things could happen, especially if the products were not stored properly. For example, storage under very high temperature conditions, etc., can lead to issues. I believe improper storage, or serums going bad, is also why many people experience sensitivities or even discoloration if a serum has oxidized. Therefore, I would not recommend doing this.
@TheLeif0019 ай бұрын
Would be much better if the copper peptide to be much closer to the skin rather than other serums.

It depends on the serums; if they contain certain oils or silicones, then yes, it does matter. However, in this case, it does not matter.
