Hello, I am new with Blender. I have used the skin modifier to create a body and head shape that I am satisfied with and now I would like to add a face and hair and clothes, do you have any tutorial that explain how to do this once using the skin modifier ? When I'm going into sculpting mode, I can't barely affect my object. Thank you !

I am following this tutorial with Blender 4.0, this is just amazing technic. Skin modifier isn't quite valid on terrain with up-down slope. Road surface makes left or right slope on sloped hill area with skin modifier, so I'd rather stick to shrinkwrap onto terrain-extrude curve to z-direction-solidify 3 combos to make valid road surface. Other than that, it looks gold, especially the sidewalk part. Thank you so much.

One of the most accessible chanel for average skilled blender users. From time to time I enjoy learning new things here aside from my usual use of blender. Exploring new ideas and new tools is all the interest of blender.

While some of the authors (okay, most) of Blender tutorials move the cursor around the screen so fast that it is nearly impossible to follow, you make it very clear just what it is that you are doing by using that yellow/green “dot” that allows your viewers to more easily follow what you are doing. Furthermore, most of the time, you linger over the object or vertex or whatever that you intend to select and this also makes it easier for your viewers to understand what you are doing. THAT WAS GREAT. > Some tutorials have background music. Background music in a tutorial is every bit as enjoyable as listing to the music on hold when you call your cable TV provider. You didn't have background music. THAT WAS GREAT. > While some of the authors of Blender tutorials have a speaking style that sounds very much like they are practicing to get a minimum wage job as an announcer at a strip club. You on the other hand, use a good conversational tone, set at a reasonable speed and set at a reasonable volume AND you obviously know enough about audio recording to keep a very good signal to noise ratio. THAT WAS GREAT. > You did a great job. If you stick to this formula, I will be a devoted fan. You are great. Thanks.

i have a question i converted an object into mesh and when i go to the sculpting tool it just movies the shape/ polygons and not allowing me to sculpt on the object at all.
@CosplayZine2 жыл бұрын
I could be wrong but I think you have to either apply the modifier or turn it into an actual mesh before you able to actually sculpt onto it.

Hey Justin, Bryan E here - great topic, will try it. On another topic- I'm trying to lovingly recreate classic music venues from the old days in blender so fans can go "back in time" to visit. I've started to run into some theater ceilings that have big, rounded corners at the tops of the venue. I found I could modify basic "walls" that I setup as regular boxes/ meshes, but the settings were not even enough to look exact. Then I tried archipack and I'm wondering if we can modify archipack made walls/ceilings to include sculpted, rounded curves? I will dump archipack if it's too constrictive for what I'm planning here.
@TheCGEssentials3 жыл бұрын
I'm not 100% sure of Archipack's capabilities in this area, but most of the time if you've got super custom curves, you're going to be modeling those manually...
@bryorama3 жыл бұрын
@@TheCGEssentials got it, many venues are simple and will probably be ok for archi. You may have gone over something that will help me in a previous video-so I'm still going through the more recent vids for help. Thanks for everything, I'll @ you anything good I happen to finish.

I don't get why its not just 's' or 'alt-s' to scale a vert. I keep going to curves and using 'alt-s' which works fine but then you have to combine different curves together. And I have to go back to one of these vids to figure out the geo vert scaling keybind.

So, if the skin modifier can already do symmetry on its own, then why most people that use it to make characters combine it with the mirror modifier? 🤔
@SteakIndustriesOfficial Жыл бұрын
It is not that kind of symmetry. Skin symmetry is for topology itself, so that it is not unequal on two sides. Mirror actually mirrors half a mesh over another half.
