Great video. just a setup 2 Vantrue N2 pro's using this video. What was important to me was basically how to toggle the setup as well as the GPS info which I don't have, I did reset the mgz to 60 since i read this is what they use in the US. Everything else I followed what you have set up. this was a very useful video for setup and not some sales pitch on how great the product is. I know that already it was after purchase I needed help.. very good slow explanatory procedures on why you used the settings too. Thank you.

Thank you for the info. Although this camera is old (2024 is when I bought it), I just needed one for UBER and I got it for $110 from Vantrue. IT seems to do the job from the reviews I have watched. I'm hopin gto just keep the camera in the car and never have to replace the SD card (as it should loop). I would only need to look at the SD card on y computer if there was a issue, right?

There is an attachment, where your camera uses your OMB-2 connection under your dash. There's no other connections to the OMB except for the power connection to your battery and it doesn't mess with the OMB port or your computer at all. It's just power. I bought mine off Ama**n and haven't had a problem with it or my vehicle at all. My dash cam is the Vantrue N2 Pro, but the power cable will work if you have an older Vantrue unit and you want to power your camera 24/7. Don't leave your driveway without it.

Okay I have had mine for a month and still have questions. 1. I have it on 5 minute loop recording, when I press the okay button, it often doesn’t save the video and stops recording. Even when there are no files on the card (64GB) 2. How do I get it to save videos in case of an accident? Just press the okay button? Or the !/P Button? 3. My card only allows for like 30 minutes to be in storage at a time. I want to save 5 minute video clips but when I press the button it only shows like 1 1/2 minutes then the video ends. How the hell do you work the recording on this thing?

Frequency default on mine is 60Hz. That makes sense - the US TV system is 60Hz, in the EU I believe it is 50Hz. I suppose it won't make a difference if you never intend to view the video on a TV screen - but if you ever need to edit it on a PC it might make a diff.(??)

When I made this video, the only option was to save to the SD card. I don't know if Vantrue has an app now or if the camera can now connect to the internet and save them on the cloud.

Question: Is there any way to change which camera shows full screen? Default mode shows the main camera looking at the road in full screen, but the one looking at the inside of the vehicle is so small cropped on the top left corner. I’d like to switch this so the inside of the car camera shows full screen and the road is minimized in the top left corner. Is this possible??

You can open up the SD card on your computer and you will see a folder where the protected files are saved. Simply delete the files in that folder.

That is just the way it works. So it turns on and off when you turn your car on and off. However, if you hard wire it to your car battery, you can it's advanced features such as motion detection and shock detection.

Yes you can play the videos on the dashcam screen and no it doesn't come with an SD card. I have a 128 GB that works great and I'm sure a 256 GB should work fine as well.

I bought the vantru n2 pro. I have loop recording on and set it at 5 minutes. I was under the impression that when I clip the video it will save the last 5 minutes into events folder. But when I clipped it after driving for an hour it only saved the last 40 seconds?

The loop recording setting basically just means that each video clip you record will be 5 minutes long. If the last video before you shut off your cat ignition has only started recording 40 second ago, that's what it will record. The events folder will only keep clips like if it senses shock or if you manually press the P button on the camera. Does that make sense? The setting you are looking for I think I've covered in the video. Where it saves a certain length of video before you turn your car off.

There is no notification by the camera how much space you have left. It just overwrites starting from the oldest video. With a 128mb card you would get around 24 hours with both cameras set to 1080p (default).

You're welcome. Yes if you connect the USB cable that came with it to the side of the camera and the other end into a computer or phone/tablet, you will get an option on the camera LCD to select Mass Storage Device. The SD card will show up as a Mass Storage device and you can access all the videos.

if you have it plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet of your car, it should only record when the car is on. if you have it hardwired to your car battery then it is supposed to record when the car shakes or something. that's all i know about that.

The best, easiest, and fastest way to view videos on your laptop is by taking the SD card out and putting it in an SD card reader which then plugs into your laptop.

The infrared lights are not supposed to turn on bright red. The human eye can't really see it. Since I'm recording the camera from my phone, the phone camera is picking up the infrared light to some extent and shows you the red light.

@@PaganiKoenigsegg1 the foremost point of having a dashcam in the car is for it to record everytime you drive...that is the whole point of having it plugged in to the 12V outlet. However, if that's not the use case for you, then sure, you can use it like you mentioned...you can charge it and turn it on manually every time you drive...and then turn it off when you have stopped driving. You will certainly prolong battery life like that.

They come on automatically when it gets dark enough and will show you black and white video. If that's not happening in your camera, maybe it's defective

The lights are very faint. Be sure the "A with the lightning bolt " is displayed in the upper left corner. Take the camera to a totally dark room and start recording then you will see the IR lights

@@samh8098 be sure it's set to lightning bolt "A". Take it to a totally dark room (BR, garage) start recording and you'll see the ir lights. When you play back the vid you should get a BW image with a "fisheye" type quality. If you get that its working fine. If it's not working you will not be able to anything @ pm.

You might have to format it first on your laptop, then insert it into the dashcam and see if it records fine on it. If not, format it again through the dashcam. If those steps don't work, you might have a faulty SD card.

You will then have to have maybe a powerbank that you can quickly connect the camera to, so it can start recording. Remember, it just needs a USB charger or powerbank to power the camera.
