Had the same issue set back to factory default settings and works does not turn off anymore

I’ve used nothing but Samsung cards in my camera since I bought it new last year. It has started to shut down after about 5 minutes. I’ve factory reset it, turned video resolution way down and even tried it with the rear facing camera turned off. I’ve also tried turning off sound and even switched from standard 60hz to 50hz and nothing works. I do not recommend this dash camera to anyone.

make sure to reformat memory card with the dash cam....format with a computer will leave some code where the dash cam do not know what to do with it.

I just ordered Van True's card and I will see if this fixes it. It reboots and while its in recording mode its not recording anything to the card. And in normal mode for some of the videos, its not recording in 10 minute intervals but 10 seconds.

My Venture N2 Pro aren’t writing on my Sandisk SD card after I updated it. It was fine lasted about 2-3 years. it’s still keep recording but when I need a file, there are zero files written on SD card.

They said it even on the camera manual not to use the San disk as card because it has some issues. It turns out that many camera manufacturers have the same issue with the San disk brand I bought n4 about three years ago. And used the San disk 128 gb. The camera was overheating and turning off. Once I changed the disk vantrue brand it worked fine. You have to know that SD cards have a life span depending on how many times they get overwritten and formatted. The cheaper ones have lower number of rounds, where the more you spend on them the longer life and more number of rounds you get. Definitely stay away from San disk as dash cams card for that matter.

I have been using a SAN DISK 128GB in my cam for 2 years and no problems!!! as for the SD they recommend,, I bought 2 and tried them in my camcorder.. i get an error power down message all the time.. with SAN DISK no problems... San disk has been around forever... they make a good SD... the reality is-- it is not the SD-- it is the designers that design their products to only work with certain SDs

I had same problem after using it for 5 years. Now , I format the card inside the cam every 2 weeks r so. Make sure the loop is on. It's a pain but seems to work. However, it started beeping when i connect it in my car out of nowhere. I brought it upstairs , hook it up to my PC , let it charge a bit then turn it on and it's working. My take on this is maybe the capacitor inside is aging at 5 years , I might have to replace it sometime this year. They are a bit expensive compare to no-name brands out there !

Same problem here. We have the N4 with original Vantrue SD card . The system is 1 year old. Formatted the card, looked for the recording settings, they're on 5 minutes. It doesn't help. I'll buy the Samsung card and come back here

In my case the battery was dead after 2years. You can see this if the time resets every time you restart. You can solder a new battery for about 10 bucks.

I also have the N4, with a Vantrue SD card that I purchased from Vantrue (expensive). The camera worked great for about 7 months, then started to fail to record periodically. I reformatted the SD card, but it's still failing to record every so often. Because I used an SD card supplied by Vantrue, I should not have had these problems. It seems like the problem is not the SD card, but perhaps the camera itself.

there is a problem... there are too many posts online about these issues... a company that has a problem should fix or redesign so it goes away.... they have yet to redesign so this goes on and on

Maybe the internal battery ist dead In my vantrue n2pro after 2years IT was dead and everytime i manually Turn IT on IT Reset the time.

The n5 does exactly the same. I installed it yesterday and went out for my first drive today and after 2 mins it turned off or the screen went off and if I pushed the orange button on the side it came back on I have installed vantrue 512gb sd card and since the car has sat on my drive way until today surly the sd card isn’t full

OK. Everybody talking about micro SD card brand and capacity but there's further detaiils... How about the card class ? How many cameras recording ? (N4 can record up to 3). Are all of them recording with max resolution ? There's a logic behind recording high resolution video. 3 cameras in high resolution generate too much data to be handled by a low class card... So the information about the class super important. Perhaps you are comparing a high class Samsung vs a Low class Sandisk and ithat is the case we are not comparing apples to apples. Please specify what is the card class since this camera needs a higher one to work as expected.... Why do you guys think the cards vary that much in prices ? Card class guys (C2 ?, C4 ?, C6 ? C10 ?, U1 ?, U3 ? )... please let us know which one you are using.

most people today are buying class 10. the Average person is buying a DASHCAM for the DASH.. I have the 3 channel and I use it for DASH. SANDISK is used in top 4K cameras and camcorders with no problem.. if a 10 dollar dashcam can't use it,,, it is not because of sandisk

Vantrue SDHC cards show U3 and A2 values on their SDHC cards. Any SDHC card that also have the values of U3 & A2 will work. Several youtube videos make mention of the U3 and A2 values being required on other brands of SDHC cards. If the U3 & A2 values aren't on the SDHC card, it won't work in the Vantrue N4 dashcam. Yes, I've subscribed & rang the notification bell.

@@LEARNINGCHORDS In my opinion, VanTrue has designed their systems so other brand SDHC cards won't work. NO need to buy VanTrue Hard-wire power cords & have to take the time to install each individual wire to where it gots - I'm not going to allow myself to be coerced into spending another $85.00 especially when there are numerous youtube videos of others having problems with VanTrue SDHC cards. Garmin's OBD power Cord will provide power to any USB device 24/7 whether vehicle's engine is running or not. CUSTOMER SERVICE - You can't talk to a Customer Service Representative, you can only email 'em with your question. This is NOT customer service. The suction cut mounting system for the front camera is unreliable because the suction cup doesn't stay attached to the windshield.

I have the Samsung SD card, do I turn on Loop Recording at 5min or turn it OFF?

loop means when the card is filled up, it will keep recording over what was FIRST recorded.. LOOP off means when the card is full it stop recording video 1 3 and 5 minutes. a 5 minute setting will make the Files longer. if you set it to 1 minute you might have 500 files on the SD and with 5 minutes it might only be 150 files.. does it matter? yes and no if you get in a car crash and it is set to 5 minutes- it might never SAVE the final 5 minutes of video if the camera is hit or the power goes off if you are in the crash-- you Might lose the last minute or you might not. depends if it had enough time to SAVE the file set to 5 minutes,, if you park your car and remove the camera to the glove box,, IF the camera has a good battery it MIGHT save the last minutes or it might power down and lose them you can also park and press the STOP button which will make it SAVE and then turn off donations accepted. thanks

there is a setting to time out the screen so it turns off while driving. I think 1 min 3 min 5 minutes or always on
