Good work! Thanks for taking the time for this demonstration!

Thanks hope it helped out somehow

I'd recommend a tack cloth to clean the lumber up before filling.😉

Well done. Easy to follow. Would like a video on staining vs painting over the Bondo & what it looks like after. Thx

I’ll try that demo soon.

Thx for the demo. Now time to try

Remember it hardens real fast

Just bought some and was looking for an orientation. Appreciate you!
@MendandMake3 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it. Remember that it dries fast so work fast with it

As a painter and cabinet finisher so far nothing I have found works better than bondo.
@MendandMake Жыл бұрын
Yea you have to use it quick with the hardener added

Thanx- I feel the other stuff just don't cut it. I've purchase a metal can and got it home and it was already hardened! Watching your video prior to using it. Do you recommend filling is " screw holes"? In 15- 20 years it makes it hard for the next guy ( it won't be me!) regarding replacing deck boards. Thanx
@MendandMake Жыл бұрын
The hardener makes it a good product but I wouldnt use it for deck boards
@a3b4c562 жыл бұрын
What do you do if you did not put another hardener as in mixing it in cold weather?
@MendandMake2 жыл бұрын
You have to use the hardener or it’s a waste. Remember if you use that product it dries extremely fast. Don’t mix too much at one time or it will dry up on you way too fast and it’s no good.

I am using body filler on a side table, what primer should I use on top the body filler as a primer. My finish paint is Sherwin Williams -emerald urethane trim enamel
@MendandMake3 жыл бұрын
I use kilz primer.

Awesome work man. For wood rot on a door frame do I need to use a wood harner first and than use it? If I use a Gardner do I need to pull out the rotted wood? Thanks man
@MHS_ART2 жыл бұрын
Hardener*
@MendandMake2 жыл бұрын
If it’s just a door frame personally I would remove it completely. Anything rotten needs to go this product works well but would not put it on rotten wood because as the wood continues to rot the hole will reappear

While I like Bondo for certain projects, if you use Bondo outside it won't flex with the expanding wood and crack and separate. Has this happened?
@MendandMake3 жыл бұрын
It hasn’t happened with this project yet and it’s been I guess about a year
@WillyDrucker3 жыл бұрын
@@MendandMake Can't argue with results. Did it on a deck and it separated on me.
@MendandMake3 жыл бұрын
Yea if it’s left outside that will expand and contract due to the changes in moisture. I guess it hasn’t affected it too much in the house

@@MendandMake Ah my bad, thought that was outdoor furniture. Yeah good stuff for interior.
@ericcalabrese87162 жыл бұрын
How did it stain?
@MendandMake2 жыл бұрын
Painted everything white. If you choose white remember to use 2 coats of primer or you will get yellowing of the wood.

What grit sandpaper sandpaper did you used

80 grit

does it work with peanutbutter

Awful product. Once mixed it hardened before I could get a few holes. I'll take regular wood filler any day.
@MendandMake3 жыл бұрын
It’s a good product if you use it fast. But yes it’s a pain in the butt for sure.
@americannational74023 жыл бұрын
I want a bondo that doesnt require mixing... FFS.
@MendandMake3 жыл бұрын
That would be best
@WillyDrucker3 жыл бұрын
Look up glazing putty, nearly the same stuff, comes in a single tube.
@MendandMake3 жыл бұрын
I will check out out. Does it dry really fast. The stuff I used dries really fast so if you don’t work fast enough with it it hardens up and you can’t use it
@WillyDrucker3 жыл бұрын
@@MendandMake It has decent work time once it's out of the tube, probably around the same time as the mixed Bondo. You just have more control of where to apply it with the tube. It does stay soft for awhile though, takes a few days to get as hard as the wood.
