Be aware that there is a school of thought that you don't need to tamper coffee in an Atomic coffee machine, and that it's unnecessary. Some of the reasons that were given to me were; 1. The original 1982 video doesn't tamper the coffee 2. A tamper was never supplied with the machine 3. Tamping is important for commercial machines which generates high level of pressure. The Atomic coffee machine doesn't achieve these high levels of pressure. Just some thoughts for you. I recommend trying both tamping and not tamping and seeing which gives you the better result.
