Yes, I think the receiver connection is way more stable but the iPad screen generally looks better/is bigger than my Shinobi 7 in. Directors and client monitors are not always important, but when you need them it’s good to have.

do you need to connect to an on-camera monitor (like you did in this video) to get the picture on the ipad? or can you connect directly to the camera and send to the ipad? just asking as i don't have an on-camera external monitor

You can run it directly from the camera to the transmitter. For your second question I’m not sure what you mean exactly

Hi there i was planning to get a iPad for my R5C i have never used an iPad i have a MacBook but most of the shoot outdoor or at certain situation it is not possible to carry MacBook at everyplace . is spending on a iPad good idea for photo and video monitoring? i dont have a monitor while recording interview sessions i am guessing on the mini screen . i have raveneye from ray RS2 Pro combo. If a iPad which one to get and case protection ?

What is the benifit of this set up. How practical is it in a run and gun situation. I interested in the set up

Well in the beginning I explained how I’ll be using it. This iPad is for others so they can view the footage while it’s being shot on set. They won’t have to be hovering over to see. Also if I have someone pulling focus, they’d be doing it while viewing the image from the iPad. As for run & gun, you could mount it on your rig, but it’ll be a bit bulky. Hollyland Mars also has the app for iPhones. So I’d mount my phone instead of the iPad if I’m gonna put it on the rig

..another option for those concerned about the size of the iPad as a run and gun, is to use an iPad mini.
