Why the hell didn't AKAI or Native Instruments make tethering apps for iPad Pro for their respective units? They both had apps then they dropped support. They both could benefit from expanding capabilities over USB to the iPad Pro especislly M1 M2. They could split the process duties and use their units as interfaces to the software. They would need AUV3 support and be able to route into Cubasis. But really they could each make their own iPad DAWs. They should each come out with iPad docking stations with expansion ports.

Bluetooth midi dongles tie into the iOS / MPC ecosystems very well too. I use mine with the MPC One and an Ultranova.

Even debating between mpc one or mpc live two and an mc 707. The new firmware update definitely is making me go MPC, now I’m tryna decide between the mpc one and the mpc live. The live two having WiFi and having a speaker benefits me. Thanks for the video, after watching I can’t wait to use my iPad and the mpc together, as a sound module and now as a controller… definitely going with the mpc.

Have mpc one and 2.12 and it says usb device not supported. Not sure why. Have ipad gen 6 with ios 15.6. I probably need a converter usb to midi in this case

Have you tried it in non controller mode? Would love to send midi to the iPad on one midi track so I can use drum tracks and plugin tracks also.

Just to clarify, sending out MIDI via USB like you show in the video (with the MPC in controller mode, but 'looking for computer') has been possible for some time, it's not related to the recent 2.10 update. Here's a video from a year ago with someone using a Live 2 to control Melodics on his computer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5O6d3enfNGtmac While not an iPad, it's the same thing, MIDI over USB but fairly limited as you are not able to use it in an active MPC project to trigger iPad synths. At the moment, you'll still need to use MIDI cables or bluetooth for that. 2.10 introduced USB audio class compliance (2.8 was MIDI class compliance), so I assume the iPad audio coming out of the Live speakers could well be due to the 2.10 update.

Actually the MPC Live/2 had that feature for a while. (Over a year) When the unit is in controller mode you have a usb-midi, usb audio compliant device, and file access. I accidentally discovered this hooking my MPC Live 2 to a raspberry pie. Theoretically, if the Linux distro running on the MPC could be figured out, you could install drivers to support more devices. Imagine hooking up a bigger touchscreen to do editing. All through a usb dongle.
