Hi, ours doesn't work on schedule times. It works fine if I manually put the hot water and heating, but it doesn't work at all for the scheduled times I've put in. We have a conventional boiler, not a combination boiler also.

very informative video thank you. I care for a disabled lady and she has a hive I've got the gist of working it but when I turn the target temperature up and press the tick the actual temperature doesn't come up to match it. the actual temperature was sitting at 18 all day, any suggestions please. I had British Gas out as I thought it was faulty and they said it was fine!!!! help

Hello, its great you found it helpful. The problem could be to do with the heat source in the room is not reaching that temperature ie radiator output.

Great video. But I've bought one of the new ones without a dial. Want to schedule it without a hub. But can't find how to do so. The app requires a hub of some kind.

I know this video is a year old but hope you see this. Just moved into a house and theyve left their thermostat. It seems to ignore the temperature i choose and turn on the heating when it wants. So i wondered if its where im keeping the thermostat itself? Is it out of range maybe? Also i unplugged the hub as hive recommend and they say the thermostat SHOULD work alone but i wonder if thats why it keeps turning on. Theres currently no internet while we move in. No interest in the app really but feel i may need to buy the hub?
@pro-tectheatingplumbingltd61922 жыл бұрын
Hi Ronnie, If you are not going to use the hub you need to put it into (standalone mode), this is quite straight forward if you google it but in a nutshell.... Press the button on the receiver and hold it for 10 seconds until it goes white, it will then just work on the thermostat without the app , hope that helps.

British gas installed this (just the control) today and we set the timer for 6am to 9pm. It's currently just after 10pm and the radiators are still piping hot. Is that normal? How long does it take for the heating to go off or is there a malfunction somewhere?

I spent HOURS looking, called HIVE (who were rather useless) and eventually figured it out. It completely baffles me that NONE of the YT videos or pages online I could find cover this clearly and comprehensively. Here it is: How to set the Hive Thermostat time when the setup is STANDALONE, i.e. when no hub is involved in the system. 1) Follow the "standalone" installation instructions from Hive (available in several pages, search "hive Activating stand-alone mode"). 2) the Thermostat will have a NEW feature under Settings which is "Date/Time". This feature is unavailable when the system is in "remote" mode as the idea is that the Thermostat gets its time from the internet, when in remote mode. The problem is that the system is SO BADLY ENGINEERED that you turn off the boiler or the router or the hub or the thermostat (e.g. to change batteries) and it takes HOURS and some times DAYS to recalibrate the time when in "remote" mode. And of course the time being correct is CRUCIAL to the entire concept of "scheduled" heating. How to set the Hive Thermostat time when the setup is REMOTE, i.e. when there is a hub involved in the system. THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX THE TIME MANUALLY, as the Thermostat is designed to HIDE the Date Time feature of settings, as it's meant to fetch date-time from the internet. The only way I managed to fix the time in remote mode is: disconnect hub router off boiler off batteries off thermostat boiler on, wait 3 mins router on, wait 5 mins connect hub (usb power to router, plus ethernet cable to router) batteries in thermostat At this stage it may STILL show the wrong time but after a few hours it SHOULD recalibrate Hope this helps someone.

I have hive in lounge and on landing but don't have a hub. Been like that since I bought property a year ago. Heating schedules work fine. However yesterday I noticed the time was 10 minutes slow on both hubs. I put the time forward 10 mins in the settings and confirmed. But when you go back to the main screen it puts the time back again. Where is the hive taking the time from?
@pro-tectheatingplumbingltd61922 жыл бұрын
