having an issue where the app and the thermostat says heating but the heating isnt acutally turning on, would that be more of a boiler issue? Doesnt say anything is wrong in the app
@iheat3 күн бұрын
I would say thats a connectivity issue to the boiler, might be the wiring or a reset could fix it all
@angelalegget3144 ай бұрын
How fo you change the batteries when thermostat is attached to the wall?
@iheat4 ай бұрын
If you can't remove the unit off the wall it is more than likely a wired thermostat which shouldn't need batteries. If facing issues with power I'd recommend reaching. out to whomever installed the stat. If it isn't a wired thermostat it should just slide up off the wall to expose the batteries
@sunseeker9581Ай бұрын
For the ones that take batteries there's a small leaver you push under the hub to un clip it. Then softly lift hub upwards. To remove from top hinges. You may need to reset hub to factory settings if they've been dead for a while to get it to pair to boiler again.

We have 2 hive recievers and one of them switches on the hot water tank and master radiators. The reciver acknowledges when master radiator is set to go on, but the boiler itself doesnt kick start. If we put the hot water on or anything from other receiver (under floor heating), then master rads come on. But if nothing else comes on then boiler pilot light doesnt come on and we have no heating. I can see the receiver going green but boiiler doesnt respond. So strange. This started a year after we been connected and stopped around 6 months ago. Now becoming an issue as winter has kicked in. Any suggestions?
@iheatАй бұрын
If this originally worked and nothing has changed on your system it sounds like an issue with the receiver and will need replacing. I would suggest contacting the installation company or Hive yourself

I have a hive mini connected to an ideal classic ff260 boiler. However my hot water and heating lights appear to be reversed. Could the installer have reversed the hot water feed cables and the heating cables?

I have this problem where the date and time just resets every time I set it to the correct time and date so I can't do anything like adding it to a scheduled time,it worked before and I have changed the batteries and I don't have a smart hub,the thermostat can connect to the receiver with no problem but the time and date keeps resetting,as soon as you adjust the time and date the LCD screen goes black then when you push a button again it's reset . Do I need to reset the receiver or get a new thermostat? It works apart the time and date but defeats the purpose of having it on a scheduled time to heat up the house when I get home.

I moved into a flat with Hive thermostat but no hub. The thermostat has been losing time since we moved in and is now about 35 mins slow. Its also started disconnecting from the receiver every few months. Is it easy enough to buy a new thermostat and set up up without a hub? It suits us fine on standalone mode apart from these issues.

Yes you can just pair up using the button on receiver, will be plenty of videos on here or ask Hive worst case scenario. Must be super frustrating with the time issue, sorry to hear this

The app says it's all connected (I don't remember changing my wi-fi settings on the app Incase that's the issue). Now that it's colder I've noticed my Hive temperature is wrong, I have a grow thermometer in my daughter's room and it's much colder than the Hive. Any solutions ?

We are having issues with the hub next to the boiler always switching off. The hub was 15m away from the boiler and started dropping out now it’s 6 m and hooked up to a to link deco mesh system and all was good for the first week then it’s dropping out even though when I stand next to boiler I get 55 mbps. Give straight away blamed the to link and tried to sell me the plugs
@iheatАй бұрын
How far is your router from the boiler? Worth noting you may have a 2.4ghz network and a 5ghz network and when doing speed tests could be on the 5ghz network from your phone or computer which the hive just can't work with. Did they recommend a router reset by any chance?
@garyforbes7624Ай бұрын
@ hi router about 20m away from boiler so I bought a to link mesh system and seams to work well, we now have the thermostat fixed to the wall about 9 m from the boiler. With the mesh system we have a hub in the hall, kitchen and upstairs office so good strong wifi around the house. All Hive wanted to do was sell me some plugs to extend the range, just a joke as they then told me hive would not work with the tp link system 🫣
@brendanfisher25288 ай бұрын
I had a problem with 2 previous Hives, having about 5 meters of range before it disconnects from the receiver.. 1 house was a bungalow aswell.. was a nightmare selling them the hive and it not working properly.. called technical and they said I need a booster.. even though the thermostat and receiver is less than 5 meters apart.

5 metres sounds very odd, what thermostats have you offered recently? any that stand out to you the most?

Can you explain why number 1 the actual temp is wrong, and once target reaches the heating then goes off. How to keep heating on constantly?
@iheat3 ай бұрын
Can you explain the actual temp question. Once target is reached the heating will turn off to save gas. A modulating boiler will do this efficiently to save you money. It will then kick in again once the temperature drops. However most homes in the UK will have good insulation where this isn't very often. If you bought a more expensive Opentherm Thermostat (and your boiler was compatible) the thermostat could tell your boiler to be on constantly but these thermostats can be rather costly for little gain. If you notice your boiler turning off then back on often (multiple times an hour) I'd recommend investing in better insulation however if your boiler is kicking in a few times a day this will be saving a lot on gas than being constantly on.
@floatingvoter86183 ай бұрын
It's worth bearing in mind that hive bulbs and hive active plugs assist the connectivity between other hive components when it comes to range.. This may not seem important at all if your hive set up is working well, however, if you decide to change out a hive bulb or plug for another brand you can suddenly have thermostat/receiver/hive hub connectivity issues and be wondering why....? 🤔

I don't understand what's the point of video clips when audio recordings would be enough, because in video you only see the mouth of someone talking, nothing of the subject of the clip is visualized - things and actions on them!
@iheatАй бұрын
I do apologise for this, what issues are you facing? The fixes we covered in this video were just common issues that didn't really need visuals (changing batteries and holding the only button on the receiver). More deeper issues like wiring which may need visuals we can't advise customers to do themselves and only be a trained electrician. Would love to follow up this video with a more visual guide on any issues you are facing on your hive, thank you for the feedback and we will be sure to emulate this on the next one!
@sunseeker9581Ай бұрын
@iheat hives have so many issues. Wish there was a good video on all the different light sequences & reset options for both hub, thermostat & receiver. I'm on my second thermostat and still have issues ie I just got a new phone. (Same number, same sim) but after at least 3 hours of trying to pair everything I gave up with the hub. They really are terrible. You can set both your receiver and hub to flash orange & nothing happens. Some say turn hub off nothing happens. Some say turn boiler off. Then some say you have to turn hub off and on 6 times. To get it to start pairing. That can wait till the weekend as there's only so much time you can waste on an app.
@kylejarman2604Ай бұрын
Losing my sh!t here. Is there a way I can just set the temp to my liking? I have no interest in target temp/actual temp.
@iheatАй бұрын
Whatever you set the temperature to in manual mode, the boiler will kick in to reach that temp and maintain it the best it can. The newer the boiler, the better it can do this via modulation. Actual temp is just what the thermostat will display as the house temp rises
@kylejarman2604Ай бұрын
@ thanks for the reply. Been using it a week. What I’ve noticed is that I’m using more gas. I find that when tries to achieve that target temp, I’m using more gas than when I had my old boiler set low for a longer period.
@sunseeker9581Ай бұрын
@@kylejarman2604 at the end of the day it's just a switch with a thermostat. If you're using more gas it's either on longer or reaching a higher temperature or you're on a new tariff with your supplier.
