It’s nail day! The day I get to treat myself to 4-6 hours of doing my own nails while catching up on podcasts or other self-development listens. Yes, a lot of hours, but I certainly look at this day as me-time, and the nails last indefinitely… usually when it’s time to do them again. (Anywhere from 4-7 weeks!)
On the menu today? Velvet nails.
What are velvet nails? Velvet nails are nails that are painted on with a magnetic gel. What is often known also as “cat eye” gel polish. The reason for the velvet comparison is because when done properly, the gel nails reflect and shine like the rolling fold of velvet material.
I like this name. I think it’s certainly more sexy than “cat eye gel polish”.
Either way, today I am doing my nails from start to finish, and besides the magnetic gel, the other star of the show is the new Leafgel Smooth Fit Base. I’ve had it for a couple of months now and I think it’s about to become my favorite base gel.
