A very good video for someone just learning how to take care of their bike themselves. I only have one comment. You don't show it, but usually those battery screws are phillips, or cross. Using a straight, or slot, screwdriver can strip out the cross pattern because it cant seat itself fully.

Thank you for this video! I am preparing to take my battery out for winter. When you want to put the battery back in for Spring, do you put the positive attachment first and then the negative (so opposite of what you did when taking it out?) thank you!

You are welcome! I’m glad I wa sable to help. And you are correct, you reverse it. Connect the positive first and then the negative :)

Great job! I remember when I had to replace the battery on my harley street 500. It took forever! once I placed my new one in trust me I used a battery tender every day from that moment on. BTW you motivated me to ride yesterday, since you rode while it was raining I figured i'd get my lazy but up out of the house and ride! lol

Thank you! I think everyone should own a battery tender 😅 And yaaaaay! I hope it wasn’t raining where you were hehe

@@thatmotogal I agree. I have tenders for all my bikes, although I only have one bike now since I sold them all. And no rain, I’m in SoCal so I avoided the rain on sat and went out on Sunday 😎

It would be more convenient if the positive was exposed as opposed to being buried. I have Charger Packs, and also charge my batteries often as one of my 750's will crank the batter down if not started correctly. In any event, removing seats and side panels became a Hassel. In stead it now takes less than 30 seconds to attached a charger or a jumper . I have a Positive lead that is terminated at the side panel ( which is plastic, and isolated from ground ) . In effect its a bolt where on the inside via cable is attached to the battery, and from the outside is accessible for an alligator clip. A Positive can go there from a charger or jumper, where the frame is ground. As Usual, Connect the positive first, then the ground. After a jump of charge, I use a rubber nipple to cover the positive lead that is exposed thru the plastic side panel. Make sure to always disconnect the the ground first after - I actually installed a another 12 volt access point on the other side panel for 12 volt accessories when needed using the 12 volt female jack and a cover for it -
