Your videos have pretty much cemented the idea of going with a VVT swap now. Content and quality is top notch as always. Out of curiosity (and a very thin looking wallet) do you have your own discount code with them or anything?

Damn, never heard about this ECU, but it looks real nice. I'm running a Speeduino currently, definitely wasnt running 100% perfect until I installed an NB crank sensor. It'd be cool to compare all these new kind of ECU's. Seems like cheap ones are getting better and good ones are getting cheaper and I'm not sure when I want to push more than 300 hp in the future I'd trust the speeduino.

@@BigBenlolz speedyefi (Speeduino) is what I was running before I switched to link as well. Had I known of this I probably would have gotten it instead of link, but I absolutely love links gui over tuner studio

Would be a cool comparison but I’d want to have experience with them all first.

That's a lot of info to digest. Will take watching the video multiple times for all of it to sink in. Saw your laptop is an ASUS ROG. What OS are you running? I have a G74sx with Linux Mint. You're getting me worked up about swapping in a 1.8L VVT into my NA6. We'll have to visit during MAG.

Well, you've convinced me to do a VVT swap. But im curious, what fo you think of Hummelink modifications VVT adapter harness and his products in general? His specialty is high HP naturally aspirated engines And in the topic of NA engines, what do you think of the skunk 2 manifold for that application (with a target of 180-200hp
@NappMotorsports6 ай бұрын
I haven’t used Hummelinks kit, but based on his other products it seems like a nice option.

Assume you want the ECU to match the Chassis? If I'm VVT swapping a 96 then use the BMM ECU for a 96?
@ianp08176 ай бұрын
Yup!

Yeah ECU should always match the chassis.

Where would you recommend to install a flex fuel sensor? Before or after the fuel rail? Probably as close to the fuel rail as possible in any case...

So what’s wrong with the speedyefi? I have one got form someone who ended up selling the car before he even installed it. So I got it cheap. The megasquirt is better if only because the afr is built in. They all run tuner studio. Is it a software or hard ware issue? Maybe I should do some more reading. I dont remember seeing any negative about the system.
@8145dwerdna6 ай бұрын
@@jameshamlyn4172 speedyefi does work. However it's still new so it's still a bit buggy firmware side. Even megasquirt was buggy in the early stages. I had issues with the dfco and a few other settings. Like how some of the injector voltage dead time settings would change when changing ignition dwell voltage and vice versa. What I mean is changing one of the axis on the table would change the other to the same.
@jameshamlyn41726 ай бұрын
@@8145dwerdna Oh ok. I got it cheap so I’ll give it a go and see how I do. There’s no turbo or anything. This is more of a learning experience.

Yeah it’s just a bit buggy. I’ve had 2 local guys have theirs fail and they get sent back for repairs. They do get fixed and work fine now, but they just aren’t my first pick.

@@alessandromeyer4888 I've heard of rusefi. From what I read a bit back its a decent budget option and I also see it supports dbw which is cool. I just switched to link ECU though since I like the GUI of their software much better. It's cool they offer a pnp option for it now like Speeduino (what I had before switching to link)
