I always wondered how americans dealt with wall mounting tvs with their wooden panel walls, thankfully we have proper brick walls here in the UK it makes life so much simpler.
@FamilyHomeTheater8 жыл бұрын
Actually, our walls are drywall, which is not nearly as sturdy as wood panels. Sure, there are drawbacks. However, I did live in Germany for several years, and will take our interior walls over brick walls throughout. When we bought our house, we had a wall between the dining room and kitchen that we didn't like. Taking it out was easy. And putting in a new wall is also easy.
@OlavAlexanderMjelde7 жыл бұрын
Brick walls are very porous, one can use anchors in drywalls too - and fit large tv's without even using studs!
@brodobroggins7 жыл бұрын
thankfully california doesn't have shitty UK weather so we don't require brick walls

how is gaming on this tv? im looking for a good 4k tv mostly for gaming, is there too much jagged edges when moving the camera in games or motion blur? i dont do online gaming btw, thanks in advance and great videos, i really enjoy them!
@FamilyHomeTheater8 жыл бұрын
I play a lot of 7 Days to Die on this TV, and it is amazing! The contrast makes it so that darker games are more easily playable without having to mess around with gamma settings. No complaints gaming on this TV. I'll have to do a motion blur test.

Hi, no spacer or washer between TV and holder? Were ist a space between thread and plastic cover. ( Sorry for my bad english ) greetings from Germany. Kersten

They did have rubber spacers provided, but the instructions said it was to match the bracket to a curved back TV.

the four holes at the back of the TV came up without screws in them? We just bought a LG OLD55C6P and the back of the TV already have screws in the back of the TV... was just wondering if those holes with screws are what we should be using for the wall mount. [thanks for the video - really helpful!]
@iwasteuseraccounts6 жыл бұрын
Aminata Sidibe yes it is. If you follow your mounting instructions it says to use the screws the tv comes with if it has them.

We used this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003MIEM8I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I didn't need it to swivel out or tilt. So I just went with a no frills low profile wall mount.

It looks like your mount back covers the exhaust. Is that the case? Does this risk the TV overheating?
@FamilyHomeTheater8 жыл бұрын
It is away from the grill an inch or two so there is plenty of space for the air to convect through.

whats the TV like for watching standard definition? any difference in comparison to the LED/LCD counterparts?
@FamilyHomeTheater7 жыл бұрын
From reports I've read, people prefer OLED for SDR content, while LCD is the winner for HDR due to it's ability to produce higher peak brightness. I have watched SDR content, and the TV displays it really well. You can read this article for more on the OLED/LCD divide: www.avsforum.com/lcd-wins-hdr-oled-wins-sdr-vote-in-uk-shootout/ Keep in mind, the LCD TVs the article is comparing this TV to are the high-end LCD TVs, not the $500 65" Wal Mart specials.

Tv is wrong to hanging it up on the wall higher way! It must be in the same lower of the eyes 👀 with the line of the head
@FamilyHomeTheater7 жыл бұрын
Like everything, there are exceptions. In my case, I have 4 kids, so having it a little higher than ideal is the price I pay for keeping it away from greasy fingers and impacts from toys. It's not that much higher. At least it's not hung over the fireplace!

Looks like you'll need the OTW150 wall mount. Surpisingly enough, Amazon does not list it, b8ut WalMart.com does. www.walmart.com/ip/Lg-Otw150-Wall-Mount-For-Flat-Panel-Display-55-To-65-Screen-Support-110-20-Lb-Load-Capacity-otw150/46727998

@@blitzinger1 i did't watch carefully, at 10:20 when the panel is on the box, didn't see the side foam supports ^^ these oleds are extremely thin and can crack pretty fast, manipulation must be very delicate.

Beware...a copper pipe will also beep as a stud and if you drill into it..well, a water disaster!
@tigerbalm6668 жыл бұрын
Studs can be 16", but also 24" or 12"...FYI
@FamilyHomeTheater8 жыл бұрын
I know its 16 in my house. I've taken out a wall in this house, so I'm pretty sure. This was just an anomaly where they put two studs close for some reason. And I know there are no pipes in this wall. It's a 1 story house, and no wet areas anywhere near this wall. But good advice for others who may be doing this.

I have a question about the TV. Does your TV's power light flash for 3 times before turning on? Mine flashes 3 times every time I try to turn it on and it takes 7 - 10 seconds to turn on.
@FamilyHomeTheater7 жыл бұрын
It does, and it takes the same amount of time to turn on. I think of it as a 55" smartphone, just without touch capability. Like a smartphone, it takes a few moments for it to "boot up" from an off state. It would be nice if it could be instant on, but then we wouldn't have the "smart" capabilities. At least not until processing and memory becomes much faster.

My challenge was hiding the power cable as its fixed (hard wired) to the TV, any body else have an issue that does not involve cutting the moulded plug off
@FamilyHomeTheater7 жыл бұрын
The two options are to use molding as I did to cover up the cable, or install a power receptacle behind the TV. If you go the route of installing a power receptacle, might as well also install an HDMI port to hide the cable as well.

LG recommends a special, ultrathin one, but any VESA-compliant one will work. The B series I believe is 300x200, the others 400x200. The TV is super light, so weight issues aren't a consideration.
