Great vid! Thanks for the taking the time to explain and show all of the little details. Every dirt bike washing video has the standard pressure hose, brush, etc. Everyone knows those things! It's the unique extras that make the techniques in this video gold.

Oh, and what is that brush you're using? The one when you're cleaning the aluminium.

Nice tips. I always just wiped my fork tubes down with water after I noticed water drops. Never considered using fork oil. Always have extra from changing seals. Now I have another use for it!
@mxrevival4 жыл бұрын
Exactly! That's the best way to get the oil too. Sometimes I'll do a set of seal for someone & they typically don't want / wont take the leftover oil until I explain the trick. Thanks for watching & I'm glad there was something useful in there for ya-

Nice vid bro. Lots of guys use tape to cover vent but what I do is just put a plastic shopping bag around the filter and a couple rags works perfect
@mxrevival3 жыл бұрын
That's an excellent tip. I should have mentioned that in the video. I guess I wanted to prove that water gets in on the KTM especially 🤷 Thanks a ton for watching and adding value to everyone's riding experiences!

i do both, plastic bag over the air filter, close up the box with tape as well. if i ever take the air filter off i shove rags down its throat. takes 1 minute and can only help.

Good video. Another tip is to spray a little bit of lubricant on your foot peg springs. Keeps them from not rusting or being crusty. 👍🏻

Great video, can I ask question. I have a brand new china bike just as transportation, love it though. live on dusty roads and salty air. Is Wd40 on painted steel frame a decent way to keep it lasting from rust / pitting. Or am I adding to the problem? I do not spray the WD40, I wipe it on, I do not get it on any grease points or into bearings or brake rotors, and I definitely do not spray it on any bolts, as I think it could help work a bolt loose.. Im new to biking and owning a new bike. But just want to keep it lasting a bit longer than not applying anything. I do not have access to much else. I could do diesel and old oil mixture but I thought that sounded a little too harsh for new paint. Sorry for stupid question. im applying this onto painted frame and weld points trying to keep rust from popping up. Thanks for any feedback!

@@mxrevival I'm trying to do it on a 450 sxf, Will it be available or only for 250/300 2t?
@mxrevival4 жыл бұрын
I've been waiting for an opportunity to do this to someone's 4 stroke for some time. The short answer is YES. There will be some figuring out to do with the stock exhaust silencer. You may have noticed that I modified the 250SX silencer in the photos on the website? The same would need to be done to the 4 stroke, I simply have not done it myself. I'm confident it can be done too w/ a few extra parts. But, if you're willing to invest the money into your bike, then I'm willing to help you make it happen which will in turn help others too. Feel free to reach out anytime here: *_www.mxrevival.com/contact_* -Charles // mXrevival

I am late but i have a question. I have a ktm sx250f 2020 so my bike has battery and electronics under the seat, so should i remove the seat or leave it on? And even if the battery is exposed to some water will it get damaged? I will of course not directly spray the water onto the battery if I will wash my bike with seat off. And btw subscribed to your channel you look like a really nice guy!😀
@mxrevival2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for joining me, I think you'll enjoy the channel- esp. the YZ250 Giveaway series! In your KTM, your battery will be just fine as it's sealed and can get as wet no problem. In your case, you can open the bike's airbox and put a large plastic bag (like a Ziploc freezer bag for example) over the filter. Just lay it over the filter like a shield that would deflect water. There's a plastic lip above the filter you can tuck the bag into. Just don't forget to take it back out 💪 Also, duct tape on your airbox vents if you're using the optional vented airbox plastic.

@@mxrevival At 13:00- 13:56 could you use WD-40 aswell? Cause I don't have fork oil and I wouldn't want to order some just for wiping the shocks after wash, but I will probably order some if i need to change the fork oil or something.

I always take a plastic bag from the grocery store, for example, and put it over my air filter. It will keep water from getting in the air boot most of the time.
