Tell me i did not see her use a fine toothed comb during detangling after she used the afro pick!

ladysoloist Yes I did use a fine tooth comb after detangling...just to show that the hair was fully detangled so much so I could use a finer tooth comb. During the detangling process you should make sure all of your tangles are released by using the proper steps and taking the time needed you can detangle without hair in the comb. this video was true to life. Thanks for watching and for your question...btw I used a Diane heat resistant rat tail comb...the teeth are a little wider than the normal rt comb :)

ladysoloist I noticed that too and cringed. My hair even when wet or damp after detangling would break off after using a fine toothed comb in my semi-thick 4c hair which is why I choose not to use it.

ARLETTE PENDER Fine teeth combs are not okay for natural hair. No matter how "detangled" the hair is, it will still cause damage. Our hair will always coil and curl and the fine teeth combs can not handle it without snags or hairs snapping.

Naptural Everly totally agreed. Mine as well. Using a fine tooth comb is not a healthy hair practice.

ladysoloist Ok I will agree to disagree with you. I have over 30 years of professional styling experience with natural hair and have raised two daughters with 4c hair texture and both of my daughters and my clients have long thick dense healthy hair with edges to date. I am not a you tube educated Natural Hair Stylist I am actually one of the pioneers that started this industry and I wouldn't speak on anything I don't know about. If you know how to properly handle Natural Hair you could comb it with any kind of comb ;) I am sure some will disagree but if you look closely at the combs and or picks that I am using you will see absolutely no signs of hair in them. I respect your thoughts and comments. I am just talking about things I know. I don't suggest this for everyone, just those who are willing to take their time and properly get through the detangling process. First fingers...Then leave in conditioner using a pick and combing from the ends toward the roots (without force) then once you get all of yo tangles out then you should be able to use a finer tooth comb as I did in this video. If you try it I am sure you will see what I am talking about but that 's is totally up to you. Respectfully HbA
