You can rinse them off lightly and miss them, just don’t jet them 100% of the time and make sure they don’t get submerged. Otherwise, it’s all good. At the end of the day, they are on a boat.😊

Taping the metal takes forever. What do you do about the black soot when buffing over or around the metal?
@DrakesDetailing9 ай бұрын
I just use a light degreaser to remove it before I seal the surface.
@carrsoncollins37179 ай бұрын
@@DrakesDetailing I was always nervous that the soot would get on your pad and spread around on the surface causing it to scratch around the metal on the gel coat. Is that not an issue?

Hey Drake ! I’ve learned so much from you and your videos and I was hoping you can come through one more time 😂 have you ever dealt with pink staining on white vinyl seats ? If so, did you use the special product or how did you deal with it. Thanks !!
@DrakesDetailing9 ай бұрын
Hey bro! If you leave purple power on them too long, it can stain them pink/purpleish- also, bleach could have the potential to stain them pink as well.
@PolishedMobileDetailing5039 ай бұрын
@@DrakesDetailingit’s a type of mold, it almost looks artificial the pink is so bright. I’ve never come across it before and have a customer with the issue is why I asked. Apparently there’s a bacteria that eat the plasticizers in the vinyl and give off a red dye that turns into a pink stain that’s almost impossible to remove. “Vinyl Pinking”

private boat owner of a 2006 21 foot parker cc. Thanks for all the guidance on how to get started on proper maintenance. Planning to finally take a shot at compounding and waxing/sealing. I have a couple chips in the gel coat. I live in southern ca, coastal community. pretty moderate weather, stored on a trailer. What PSI is safe for initial pressure washer on this gel coat, what pressure washer tip used, and would having chips in the gel coat prohibit using the pressure washer at that PSI?
@DrakesDetailing4 ай бұрын
I would go with a light psi on the pressure washer. We use an electric 1800 psi pressure washer with a 15 degree tip. It will be save to use even with the chips. Hope this helps

Been watching awhile now and you have helped me out with answers. Now have you prepared a boat for wraps? If not what would you do to prep for wrap or possibly a video on this if it comes up
@DrakesDetailing9 ай бұрын
Hey bro, I have not prepared any boats for wraps, just make sure you do not see all the surface and remove all excess oils, so the wrap adheres to the gelcoat properly.
@ParkerDale-c4t4 ай бұрын
Hi Drake! So you do a Jescar Power Lock + every 4-6 months. If I wanted to do the beadlock ceramic coating as well would that be the base layer? Jescar being the 2nd layer polymer, clutch SiO2 3rd layer, and then Punch it 4th layer? Also, I love your dedication to being the best you can be. It is very inspiring! God Bless You!
@DrakesDetailing4 ай бұрын
Hey there! Not necessarily, You either use Jess car, or be lax ceramic coating. It’s one or the other. You cannot have a base of power lock, then coat over it, it will not stick to the surface. Once you were done, correcting, then you prep and do ceramic, or once you’re done correcting, you prep the surface and then apply the sealant. The sealant you will need to reapply every six months. The ceramic should last around two years if maintained properly.

Love your videos. I learned alot from you. I'm putting it to good use keeping my boat like new. Going to be doing a friends boat in a few weeks. Hardly any oxidation,not enough for a heavy rotary cut. What do you recommend for an 8mm DA. Compound 1st and polish or just a polishing? Thanks.
@DrakesDetailing9 ай бұрын
Hey bro, I’d use a light compound as a polish, then seal and see how it comes out. 😎

Awesome work brother! Got a question. I have a navy blue Sea Hunt with lots of oxidation. Or so it seems to be oxidation. I can scratch it off with my fingernail. So I don’t know if it’s oxidation, or the polymer sealant. I’ve used the Jescar PowerLock plus the last 4 seasons. It seems to be getting worse. I wash it thoroughly with Dawn before each waxing. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Sound like you have oxidation, You'll need to buff it with compound first or possible a light sanding. Follow the steps in this video before waxing it this season : kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zqqwemttr896nKs

Hey Drake. I noticed that you have recently been using the White Lake County CCS Foam Pad with the Jescar Powerlock. Do you recommend that over using the Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber Microfiber Pad?
@DrakesDetailing6 ай бұрын
I like them both! Quite honestly it’s all about what I happened to have with me on that day and what I feel like using😎 if anything, the white pad may be a touch more of a cut, as you are waxing, but not much at all.

I usually polish and wax by hand but i think i'm done with that lol. If I buy the M8SV2 can I use that with chop top or heavy cut and then use Jescar Power Lock plus to finish? If so, which CCS pad for cutting and sealing? Thanks so much!
@DrakesDetailing8 ай бұрын
Hey bro, the max shine DA is not meant to do compounding as heavy as chop top. You would need a rotary buffer for that. Rotary buff chop chop, then you can polish and seal with your DA to remove the swirl marks, and to “wax” the surface.
