I use the exact same electric blower to dry my full size truck (pain in the to detail) A trick I learned was to hold the blower upside down, and use the same force of the blower to actually hold it up. You may have to tweek where on the handle you hold it, but when you get it right almost seems like the blower is floating and you control the position by just moving your arm. It’s saved me from having to carry the whole weight of the blower. Works wonders when drying the roof of the truck, I literally hold the blower over my head. Great videos 👍🏻👍🏻

I have a pro air drier with an air squeegee tip . It blows all the water off and leaves an absolute mirror finish but it does take some time. The key is that periodically I use bead up to put a mirror finish seal on the paint job and I do this to the wheels too. The pro dryer is perfect for the wheels and does a perfect job of getting it all off. I do this every two months or so, so the finish is truly a mirror finish. I should add both my Tesla"s are ceramic coated. Once you have the mirror finish the water droplets will literally run off once the powerful air squeegee gets near those droplets.

So I've only used this pressure washer one time. kzbin.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP The one time I used it, it worked great. I recently had new siding installed but kept the old gutters and small areas surrounding my house that weren't replaced so they looked horrible and dirty because of the new siding. I needed to get it cleaned asap. When I used the pressure washer, man it just melted all the dirt and grime that was on those areas of my house. I used that krud kutter soap and it was over after that. Easy to assemble, feels durable, very simple to use. Also, I purchased a used one to save money and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I want to get more use out of it so I think I'll be washing the cars and update this comment as time goes on.

My municipal water is very hard with lots of minerals. So this video “hits the spot” and helps provide the necessary details to help deal with very hard water. Great suggestions. I’ve been using a blower to dry my vehicle and it helps. Spotting has been an issue in the past but since I got a pressure washer and foam cannon my wash process is faster and the spotting is much less of an issue. In Josh We Trust 😉

75% of the year, I’d say more like 95%. Im in the same area. I wash one section at time, unlike the video. Everything else in the video ironically I’ve learned in the 20 years of detailing my own cars. The most important, in my opinion is to keep the surface wet. So as I’m washing each section I’m always keeping the prior section wet.

good tip on which side is in the sun. I make that side my last section to rinse off plus keep spraying water on the shaded side. Thanks for the great videos always good stuff

One of your best videos in which you make some valid points and key suggestions in your approach to dealing with this issue. However, moving forward, this is why I could never understand why so many people get excited with surface protection products that beads. Water beads are water spots that haven't yet dried. And obviously, we all dry our vehicles after the final rinse, so why would anyone want any water to remain on the vehicles surfaces via beading?? Wouldn't you want less water to remain, thus less to remove via beading? Products that offer sheeting characteristics in my opinion, are far more desirable. Less water to remove saves time (and money in this case) as well as preventing water spots to begin with. Just because a product doesn't bead doesn't make it less effective when it comes to surface protection. When you think about it, the sheeting action is just another key benefit when it comes to surface protection.

Also-also for concerns regarding your drying towel getting impregnated with a drying aid simply use a smaller towel and dunk them in a bucket of rinseless wash for a few minutes as soon as you're done. This prevents those bonds from forming and essentially allows you to wash the product off cleanly when you next do a load of towels. You can thank Yvan Lacroix for that little gem. My towel replacement costs have shrunk dramatically since I stopped pitching towels after every car which means more money in my pocket.

That Forensic Detailing video was interesting. Even in direct mid-summer SoFL sun, I have at least 5 minutes to let foam dwell before it starts drying. Maybe not ideal for a pro who needs to finish and move on to the next car, but I'm only doing 1 a day. I do however usually give up on rinsing with the pressure washer and just grab the hose with a sprayer nozzle. All connected with QC's and a shut off valve on the end of the hose so I don't have to run to the back of the house to kill the water for that change over. Life changer.

Pan did a similar pre-rinse yea/nay a couple of years ago to the same end determining that it didn't really matter either way which was surprising in and of itself. I do remember that the study vehicle was black. I think for the sake of efficiency skipping the pre-rinse is the way to go since it often doesn't really matter. If your customer is the type of jerk that brings you a vehicle still dripping mud...well...then I guess you might need to knock off the bigger chunks first. I'm toying with adding a step where a customer would pass through an auto-wash for 12 bucks before hitting my shop. Maybe give the customer a break on the overall cost of the detail if they have to pay for a wash first...maybe not.

good video, only one question at 8:07 , you are going vertical from top to down using same mf towel and then bringing it back top, would it not have been better to use another mf towel for the lower section of the car? if you drag same towel up n down... that might just push the residual dirt to top and induce scratches.

I’d like to take a second and ask some questions. You mentioned forensic detail and the 5 min soak and how you can’t do that because of sun. He had sun in the blue GTI video and still let it soak? Is it because he uses no PH Neutral soaps? Built Hamber that he uses has a rating of 13-14 and melts the dirt off. What is the balance in your soaps? Things to consider I guess! I watch tons of your videos, his vids, detail geeks, and chem-x and everyone’s got different ideas based on the soaps they use or offer.
