Seems straight forward. Maybe a general cycle in washer with mild detergent. Like woolite. Air dry no heat in the dryer.

May I use a plastic basin of the same size, and an "eco" washing powder for color clothes ( hypoallergenic, without perfume, phosphates, bleach, etc. ) ?

10000000%. The type of jeans you’ll have for 10+ years, don’t lose feel or fit. Like I have jeans and jean jackets my dad wore in 1970’s and I feel like the jeans im buying now will be the same for my kids

(late response) honestly it’s only if you have the money. kinda obvious but like, if you have enough to spare then fs get it. if you kind of on a budget then honestly it’s not the biggest deal cas you can still get good quality jeans for cheaper

After detergent we should soak in clear water and i will never twist my jeans, just fold and push on it to remove water.

Question for all: As a rule, I thought all new clothes were meant to be washed before wear from factory gunk, shipping grime, dressing room previous wearers, etc. I keep reading no washing until after lots of wearing, which seems gross to Me. Is there a way to do a first wash before ever wearing and then go a long time before second wash?

Just use cloth wipes to gently wipe off inside where you skin contacts if you are sensitive. Each time you wash denim it loses the color so without wearing and have wrinkles to form, you won't get a nice fades of denim. Or if pre-washing really bothers you, suit yourself.

I’ve always heard the same thing and followed the same advice…to wash new clothes once before wearing. I’m a little ocd about germs and others trying on the clothes beforehand too. So I’ll wash it once if I bought it from a store. But if I ordered it online from a company, I’m pretty sure they came straight from the factory or warehouse so I don’t wash them. Also, I’ve read the same thing, that you shouldn’t wash for about 6 months to a year. But I’ve read from other so called experts that you can wash whenever you want to, just don’t do it too often. So, I don’t think there really is a set way to wear and take care of these kinds of denim. They’re just guidelines to extend the life of these jeans.

Both my pairs of selvedge jeans came from the thrift store and I always wash once before wearing, it just makes sense sanitary wise and I haven’t noticed a single difference, assuming it’s a gentle wash I’m sure it will be fine

I just got my first pair of Nudie Jeans last week. Before I wore it, I soaked it inside-out in a basin with some vinegar (no particular calculation) for 30 mins, hand rinsed it. And soaked in some water with organic gentle laundry powder for another 30 mins and rinsed a few times and hung it up dripping in a shady and windy place. It really helped to soften the denim and there was minimal indigo bleed. I just can't go without a hand wash.

Raw denim has to be taken care of diff to prewashed jeans, your mentality is the same as people that think target $5 tees are the same as a Prada tee

There is no way those could be a good pair of denim jeans if they require a special spray, and washing technique. Good denim can be washed in a washing machine.
@nathandkreosote99172 жыл бұрын
You totally can out them in a washing machine like any other pair of jeans, they're not going to evaporate or turn into dust. This video is for those who wish to preserve their denim in a certain condition, like dry cleaning a suit to keep it looking new.
@maximusaugustus68232 жыл бұрын
washing in the wash machine will fade the indigo color, I wouldn't want to lose the deep indigo color. So I never throw my selvage jeans in a machine, just soak it then hang dry, 2-3 times a year, that's it. The result of the fade can not be duplicated. Denimhead was here.

Good materials require more care if u wanna preserve them and keep them looking great for years. It's just like with good leather shoes, alot of people do alot to maintain them as opposed to just cheap leather sneakers you get for $50. No one is gonna go through the trouble to preserve cheap quality materials, but if you're spending hundreds of dollars+, then you want it to last as long as possible and still look and feel good so that you don't have to buy a new pair often at all.
