I’ve just removed the inner lining of my GT Air and washed it on a delicate cycle with a small amount of detergent. I left the lining parts on a coffee table under a ceiling fan overnight and it was dry in about 12 hours. It smells much fresher now. Removing and reinstoring the lining was very easy as the clips line up exactly and don’t tear away from the lining. It’s pretty much a job of following the bouncy ball. I also noted the high quality of the clips and stitching in the lining. I’ll be sticking with Shoei in the future.

You can put a fan blowing air inside the helmet and it will dry in about 4 hours depending on how powerful the motor is. This way you avoid nasty smells if your helmet dries to slowly and bacteria get a chance to infest the foam. Also make sure to rinse all the shampoo out otherwise it will start to stink in no time at all.

I take the lining out of my shoei completely and wash it with either shower gel or shampoo and I wash the helment itself with warmish water clean the bugs etc off it.I only do this on a dry sunny day as I hang the helment etc out and it drys proper with in a few hours and its like brand new on the inside then

Tom Thumb yeah...its a grrt idea to dry it out on a sunny day and thus we dont have to use anything to dry it artificially..gud job

I removed my cheek pads from my xr1000 and I can not get the snaps to line up to put back in? Is there a trick to it. I have new pads and the snaps don't line up either?

No. The cheek pads come out but not the inner liner. I wash mine with shower gel in the shower. I do the cheek pads in a bowl and still can't believe how dirty the water gets!

The soft foam inner lining dries quickly. The hard styrofoam liner is waterproof.

Unfortunately all interior can be removed . He realized it after shoot lol . .
