Hi Jess, I love your work and how you'd share your painting process with the rest of us. I'm a big fan of food and hence your artwork always successfully make me hungry while watching them! I'm wondering if you could also do a video on how you go from a watercolour artwork to a finished print? What happens in between the two? Do you scan your paintings and then print them out or is there another way?

I love how you used actual produce, I rarely ever use garlic in whole form, so my thought process would be: "crap, I don't have a half used garlic clove (runs to kitchen and throws garlic on the counter to get a half) perfect!

Oh yes! Finally :D I have been waiting or you to make another one of these, and it turned out amazing! I like that there is a bit of a theme in the type of recipes so far, and the way you paint red onions is so pretty! Also I just noticed, I don't know if your videos have always been this crisp, or if you have been stepping up your game, but I love the lighting and zoomed in view of this video. It just looks so amazingly sharp and professional! I find that it looks the best with natural light, however the weather here in Sweden likes to change really quickly, so the lighting can go from direct sunlight so dark and cloudy, to rainy, to sunny again in a matter of minutes. This really makes it hard to film in natural light. Did you use a Lightbox for this video or was the sun just really cooperative for you? Hope your day is fantastic!

Julia H.B. Arts hi Julia! Yes I thought of you when I was painting this actually because I know you asked for another one! Doing these is my zen :) I didn't consciously step up my game or do anything different - I almost always use natural light from the two windows of my studio and if the light is bad I just don't film, basically. ;) But definitely the more I shoot and edit the easier it gets. Hope you're enjoying summer in Sweden! 😎

thisisaleen thank you! I do not. I’ve tried and honestly I can’t stand the process of stretching and usually I end up kind of ruining them 😬 I use a block for layered, really wet pieces and for something like this, it’s just a heavy weight Arches paper, it holds up really well. :)
