Thanks for another great video. Which board do you prefer for a shower wall? I have mostly used Villaboard but i dont like how the manufacturer insists on using nails alone? Thanks 👍

Hi Ryan, our preferences are approved wet area grade lining boards, tested to the relevant Australian standards. We recommend contacting James Hardy, as you will find they will have screw recommendations! Hope this helps and thanks for watching :)

@@GripsetIndustriesPTYLtd I used 9mm villaboard in my bathroom and found james hardy has old installation instruction and new installation instructions (2021). Old installation instructions say screws and new instructions say 30mm nails. I rang James Hardie and tech department told me nails, I have since put a mixture of nails and screws.

Some manufacturers requires a minimum of 6mm in a shower recess. Perimeter flashings are required also. Great awareness video guys.

Im planning on trying your 38fc on a upcoming bathroom renovation job. This builder specifies that the villaboard be left "open" with no setting, and he prefers his waterproofer to detail the nail heads on the villaboard. What would be the best method to detail the nail heads ready for the liquid 38fc to be applied, are small butyl tape squares over each nail the best option, or a smear of MS sealeant? Or would both options be ok?

Hi Vzgsxr, Thanks for watching! Seal all nail heads first with an MS sealant - Gripset SB. For joints in the villaboard sheeting (not flushed) seal again with Gripset SB and embed the RF Fabric with the Gripset 38FC over the top.

I’m having a headache as my new scooter comes with a storage I can’t use it because it’s just a gate, rain will go in, I trying to find a way to cover it up with waterproof, breathable uv protection material because the battery door is below the storage so it has to be waterproof and breathable and uv protection from the sun

Hi Ringo, could you please send the photo of what you are wanting to waterproof to info@gripset.com so one of our tech experts can take a look at it and make the correct recommendation! Thanks for watching :)

Wont the butyl tape help bridging bigger gaps? I agree sheeters are terrible sometimes. Ive swtiched to butyl tape in showers now for that reason, they usually aren't neat

Thanks for your comment. The BRW PF (butyl) tape and the Elastoproof B50 are good products to use for any gap up to 20mm, but ultimately there shouldn't be any gaps larger than 10mm as per the lining board standards and if they are and we accept it, there is an increased chance of liability.
