Waterproofing liquid membranes VS Sheet membranes, what is your choice?

Just install the sheet membrane first (following the instructions from the manufacturer) and use the liquid waterproofing at the corners... 100% waterproof guaranteed

Hi, My bathroom floor tiles were becoming loose, so I got a handyman. He took out all the tiles and when he took the cement off(below the tile), he pulled out the membrane with it and the floor was ripped off. He didn't take off the membrane nicely so, the membrane is some of the parts. Then he bought Mapie waterproof agent(blue in color) and applied it all over the floor and didn't come to work for a week. Now he applied one more layer of waterproofing agent on the same floor and placed the sheet and applied the waterproofing agent again on the sheet. Now I can see that the sheets below face are coming out as the agent failed as an adhesive. Now my concern is what should I do? If I ask him to put more waterproofing agent, there will be no space left for tiles and cement to set. And the waterproofing agent is also became to tight that it's hard to take it out. Please guide, what is the best option?

Can epdm sheet go on top of liquid rubber? What kind of primer is needed? Or can i lay sheet on top of liquid membrane and hold it down with just floating deck?

Have you considered or used 100% silicone roof paint as a liquid membrane substrate? Why would you select or avoid it?

Not a waterproofing expert but after 40 years as a handyman I know nothing sticks to silicon, except more silicon, so once applied there very few options down the track.

I've got a large patio area at the condo I manage. Jenco installed the original elastomeric coating 15 yrs ago. It is now bubbling in many places. We also have several low spots where water sits and collects dirt. We are looking at Semco. Do you think sheeting is a better option? Know anyone in the Seattle area I can call?

Do you recommend screeding first before waterproofing so that we can install membrane sheet? Or Under then on top of the screed wateroroofing

Thanks Tile- coat specialist, if you are looking at going an under over system we recommend sheet to go underneath the screed, if you're looking at just waterproofing one layer then we would recommend over the top of the screed, so you can create the correct falls. Thanks

My builder left large blobs of waterproofing on the floor after the first coat. Shouldn't it all be smoothed out? If they shave it off will that affect the integrity of the waterproofing?

Thank you for messaging us. Our normal procedure is using our Gripset Butyl Squares. This would adhere directly to the plastic and waterproof.
