N95 Mask: How to Wear and Remove| N95 Donning and Doffing video reviews the steps on how to properly place (DON) an N95 Mask/Respirator in easy to follow steps.
I recorded this super easy video because my followers wanted a video on how to properly put on an N95 mask/respirator. Also, there are many individuals that are wearing their N95 masks incorrectly.
Steps to how to properly Wear an N95 Mask:
Step1: Wash your hands before putting on the N95 mask/respirator.
Step2: Select an N95 mask that fits you well. It is available in different models.
Step3: Hold the N95 mask in your hand and place it firmly over your nose, mouth, chin, and tucking the bottom of the mask securely over the chin.
Step4: First, stretch and position the bottom band under your ears. Then, stretch and position the top and position the top back of your head.
Step5: Press the thin metal wire along the upper edge gently against the bridge of your nose so that the on your face. Not all N95 masks have this metal wire.
Step6: Perform a fit check by breathing in and out. While breathing out, check for air leakage around your face.
Remember to wash your hands before removing the N95 mask/respirator
Removing (DOFF) the N95 Mask
NOTE: DO NOT touch the front of the mask because it is contaminated. However, the straps are “clean” and can be touched.
1. Tilt the head slightly forward.
2. Then use your two index fingers and remove the bottom strap first by
3. slowly pulling it over the head.
4. Lastly, remove the top strap, being very careful not to touch the front of the mask.
5. Discard the N95 mask.
