One trick you can try is using a small piece of packing foam dipped in acrylic pant. Dab most of the paint off then dab the foam onto your figure . This technique makes the armor look chipped. It’s a trick I use in miniature painting. Thank you for your videos, I’m looking to get into toy photography and your videos have opened up a new world for me.

I recommend using pastels what you do is you take a knife and scrape off the pastel and then you just brush on the powder it’ll make A dirty affect depending on what type of color pastel you use

There is a weathering paint for gundams or any other stuff, it was 5 canada dollars and it works really good. But you need to make sure that you spray with the finisher.

Great work but my style after done painting add krylon matte seal then add folkart metallic seq black wash it fills cracks and clean look. I want this look i dry brush folk black and other stuff. I dig this way i might try on a few. oh my blade broke so wear goggles hit my cheek... The dull leftover part of blade good for carving lol subbed

Wow thats amazing but i want to recomend you paint gloss barnish with a small brush the lenses of the troopers or with a semi opaque/transparent Red or green...blue the visor... i for example use first a Chrome color for visors or futuristic lights and then the tamiya X-27 paint (its a transparent glossy Red paint) and actually its like night and day if you compare with the base model, its if it was glowing, so i recomend that. Because your photos are awesome and with this trick it would be super epic.

Cool, maybe I can use the shoe polish trick to modify the robe on my hasbro Grogu. It's one of the original The Child one's that is all plastic (no cloth robe) and it's nice but the robe is one solid color - looks bad.

Do the joints get stuck or stiff after the clear coat? And is there an odour to the figure afterwards?

Joints don’t get stuck at all! Maybe one initial stiffness after it dries, but that would be it! Once everything is dry, there is no odor!

just use 1/3 acrylic paint, 1/3 distilled water, 1/3 rubbing alcohol .... mix well. Use this as a wash ... its easier.

You went much too hard with the xacto knife and black paint. You would be better of scratching with different grades of steel wool and then use Citadel washes like Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade.

There are far more effective methods than this "tutorial". I wouldn't recommend 90% of what is demonstrated in this video. If you want to learn how to weather your figures, do far more research, and practice. There are waaaaay better videos on YT than this one.
