My kitchenaid ice maker won't stop making ice, even if I put the arm in the off position. It doesn't "click" when I do that, so maybe that mechanism is broken? Is there a part for that or should I replace entire ice maker unit?

The trick is in the weight of the arm. Notice the replacement part has a flap, that adds the extra weight to make the arm drop down when ice is low. I had to wrap some plumbers solder around the arm on my unit to make it drop.

My Shut Off Arm keeps falling out. I snap it in as shown, it swings freely, locks in the up position, etc., but when the drawer shuts it pushes the arm out and it falls into the bin. Shouldn't there be a retaining clip on the fill cup end?

you can pop the whole assembly off the wall and just reach in and not mess with it, there are two screws it sits on and pull it up and then right out

Our fridge ice maker is not functional and we are ok with that, but we do need the space for other things so I took the ice maker out but didnt know how to let the system know, so we here this loud hum every 15 minutes or so. How can i shut that off or disconnect it?

Just now, my mom had a problem with her Whirlpool fridge constantly making ice and it's because she over-filled the freezer with food and the food bumped the shut-off arm out of place and the freezer started filling the freezer with ice. That could do it. The fridge is a different model from the one shown in this video, but the idea is generally the same for most models and I was able to use this to give me an idea on what to do to pop it back in place. I did that just a few minutes ago, so I'll see if more ice is made.

We don’t plan to use the the Ice Maker that is why we don’t connect the Water Hose. So…does it matter if we Turn On/ Off the Ice Maker Arm ?

The arm came loose and won’t stop making ice. Seems it must have broken as there is a piece of white plastic on the arm that apparently came off the ice maker. Do I need to just replace the whole ice maker?

why make a grey square if the arm doesnt go there? thanks helped om my kenmore i was trying to shove it in the square... poor design your intuition will lead you astray, and thats never good. also why haave a hole in grey square where the arm fits? bad design is bad.
