The W11088945 I bought has a burgundy colored slider and a copper capillary tube and was made in USA. It has the two terminals on the same level rather than an upper and lower arrangement as shown in the video. However, the two terminals of the USA made new W11088945 thermostat are labeled with '3' an '4'. The red wire goes to Terminal '3' and the orange wire goes to Terminal '4'.

You're awesome! Hit that step and was stumped. Old plug had no markings to help. Glad I scrolled down. How did you learn the answer?
@mingyang19225 жыл бұрын
@@abcdefgjklmnopqruvwxyz4618 The control board has 6 terminals labeled P1 through P6. I found the red wire was connected to Terminal P3 and the orange wire to Terminal P4 on the control board. And I found the two terminals on the new thermostat are labeled with No. 3 and 4. So I correlated 3 to P3 (to red wire) and 4 to P4 (to orange wire). And it worked.

Thanks, this really helped me not have to worry about figuring out the order of taking it apart. I don't believe it makes a difference which wire goes where. Besides my refrigerator had a yellow wire on the top, and two red wires on the bottom. They both have the same size plug. It is just basically an on/off switch, poles don't matter. I bought a replacement thermostat in which the plugs were arranged completely different it had one on the side, and one on top. I just plugged them in the way that fit best and all works. I do have one suggestion. I could not take off the air diffuser without unplugging the large plug first. Also I installed the defuser before plugging it back in. Much easier.

The front cover (escutcheon) clips in from the top and essentially hooks on the bottom. If you try to free it by sticking a screwdriver under the bottom edge, you will likely break many of the plastic clips. I know - because I followed these video instructions and then was able to see the clip layout only after the breakage. The only way to remove the front cover without ruining it, is to use a very thin putty knife from the top; find the hidden clips and push down to release them. Then, rock the cover down and out. On my fridge, the cover was slightly recessed - essentially flush with the fridge cladding that wraps around the edges. This makes getting a putty knife or thin metal shim behind the cover counterintuitive, but it is possible. Some flex of the knife and the cover is needed.

Great video, not to many people do videos with such details, Thank you so much iy was very helpful the only thing was the wiring but did figured it out, because the new one the ports were different but I did see that one was marked with a L that to me that means Line so that is where the red would go..But once again, thank you for a wonderful, helpful video.

Hi have a Kenmore Coldspot refrigerator. It will cool a while and then it will stop running. And everything thaws out. I have turned it to coldest settings. Raman a few minutes then fan stopped and has not came back on. Could it be a bad thermostat or something else? Thank you .

my t stat turns on at 43 and off at 29 . i can't find temperature differential specs on replacement t-stats , so i don't know if a new one would solve my problem . if i simply remove the collar from my sensor , will t-stat become more sensitive/responsive ? thanks .

Good video. The question I have is everything is working on my Kenmore side-by-side model # 106.50730692 but it just is not getting cold enough in the refrigerator section, probably running around 45 degrees when set to the coldest, there is no Frost in the diffuser which is operational and good airflow at the return vent with no Frost. No frost on coils and fans are all operational. Would it be the temperature control thermostat or something else causing it? When I move the thermostat I can hear it click on and off and operating the compressor.

I have a side by side Whirlpool fridge. Items in my fridge is freezing. I've changed the air damper. Items are still freezing. Do I need to change the thermostat?
@briandodds Жыл бұрын
Is there are reason why this main Thermostat would make both the freezer and refrigerator get to warm every few days??? Trying to figure out this issue and it goes away for a few days then returns. Have already replaced the Compressor relay and capacitor as well as the defrost thermostat.
@appliancepartspros Жыл бұрын
That would depend on the model, but if you have a traditional fridge the cool air from the freezer circulates into the fresh food compartment. So if the freezer is getting too warm, so will the fresh food section.
@ReyReyloads8 жыл бұрын
Do you know if it's possible to replace that relay looking part on the piece? It seems like that is the problem with ours and it randomly turns the fridge off at different times during the day. It seems like I am able to switch it on an off if I push down on the top terminal while connected.
@appliancepartspros8 жыл бұрын
The control is sold as one piece, you would have to replace it.

Does it really matter where the two wires go on the thermostat? I didn't think so, but this fridge having a control board maybe it does. Thanks

My fridge was not getting cold enough. I discovered that the coils were very very dirty. I cleaned them. Now the freezer gets very cold like -20F and if I move the temp setting up just a little tiny bit, (like 1/8 inch), the temp in the freezer will go to +30 F. The fridge temp will swing a lot too. This sound like my thermostat, but before I go buying that part I wanted someone else's opinion. it's a Kenmore 106.58906802 From 2009
