Very helpful. My refer developed a tiny crack in the plastic line on the refer side of the supply connection. I was concern about trying to make a new connection above the crack not knowing the condition of the rest of the line, and not knowing exactly how to splice in a new 1/4 male connector on the plastic tubing. Seemed like the only good answer was to replace the whole component, but pretty expensive for fixing leaking tubing. Is the any other good way to make this fix? .

I can sympathize - in my case the metal compression fitting that attaches to the end of the water line got a little corroded, starting a leak. Got a new $7.00 fitting (LFA-109, SKU 613 327) ordered from Home Depot and hopefully I won't have to get a $135.00 tank assembly. Good luck.
