With lots of practice you can increase it very little at a time. Just increase the pressure slightly, just above what you can usually do, and then try to find the whistling sound again. That's what I've done to increase the loudness of it, but I'm sure it can be increased much more than what I've done, as I don't have the spaces to practice being loud XD

Can you vouch for these claims? 1. The tongue's tip should not touch the lips or teeth. 2. The sides of the tongue should brush against the upper teeth but not the lower teeth. 3. When the tongue muscle is strong, the notch on the tip of the tongue develops over time. 4. The tongue should cover all of the upper teeth, with only a small opening in front for air to escape. 5. Teeth should be used to pull the tongue tip back by tightening the sides of the tongue. Do you have any more suggestions? Why don't you make another video with new tips, as this one is your most popular on KZbin?
@dadarknezz2 жыл бұрын
I believe that sums it up pretty well, although i don't think 3) is correct. For this method the tongue strength doesn't matter much, but positioning and control over the tongue matters - which is something you'll improve on after learning the whistle as well :) 5) is probably correct, though i don't think it's something you need to pay attention to, as it's the natural way to move the tongue, but i don't think it's a wrong statement Haha yeah i guess i could make another one, but i'm not really sure what to add - only different angles to see the tongue. I wanna make other youtube videos though and i plan to make a separate channel for some of it ^.^

The diagram is basically what made this in any way possible for me. Now, i still can't do it, but I can almost hear a whistling wind sound. I know I'm close. Just gotta keep trying I guess. I find it hard to move the tongue closer to the teeth. It begins to flap for me. What am I doing wrong? Does the tip of the tongue touch the top of the palate or where does it rest?
@dadarknezz3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, i'm not sure how to explain this properly, but the tongue is made wide to it touches both sides with teeth. The tongue is mostly just "hovering" in the mouth, with the very tip just barely not touching the lip nor upper teeth. Did that make sense?

@dadarknezz3 жыл бұрын
The tongue is the hardest part as well. You should block the small gap between your upper teeth and lower lip. Then while maintaining s little bit of pressure in the mouth (like when you try to blow out, but the tongue is blocking the air flow), try to pull the tongue straight back, so a very small gap will be made between tongue and teeth, as well as between tongue and lip

Thanks for the kind words! I'm honestly not entirely sure how it's done. I believe it has to do slight changes in the pressure when whistling and maybe also a little about tongue placement, but i think the best way is just to practice, then i believe you'll get it at some point ^.^

Saw this for the first time today and tried it. Interesting, I’m now making a sound that’s different from my normal day to day whistle. Not loud (yet), but certainly a slightly higher pitch. That tip about the air coming from below the tongue helped. The drawing was incredibly useful. How long did it take you to get it that loud? Was it like right away or within a few days?
@dadarknezz3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad to hear it helped! Honestly, that thing about the air coming from below is something all other videos i've seen leave out, and it took me soooo long to figure out, so i thought i'd share it with others :D It took me several weeks/months. But it all depends on the amount spent practicing. You can basically go 2 ways when practicing: You can either practice getting it right on first attempt (it's pretty embarrassing to fail XD ), or you can improve the loudness of it. I personally chose to improve loudness for a while, and then later practiced getting it right on first attempt. I know it's possible to get it much louder than what i do here though ^^

I can whistle but it’s not nearly as loud as yours. Any advice? I would appreciate it if you respond. (I am 14 if that matters at all) (also, should the side of my tounge be touching my teeth?)

Try to build more pressure and find the whistling tone again. Keep trying to use more pressure and practice finding the tone, then you will be able to do it louder and louder :) Good luck!

DaDarkneZz any tips on how to build up pressure?
@dadarknezz4 жыл бұрын
@@ocblue179 Not really. You just push air out with a bit more force than usual, and then try to find the whistling sound again. I can't really explain it better than that, but i hope you'll get it!

i think i can do it but i cant change the tone of it can anyone help me
@dadarknezz4 жыл бұрын
It has to do with how hard you are pressing the air out of your mouth. It takes a lot of practice, since you have to reshape the hole it's coming out of, but by doing that you will also be able to make it louder :) I hope it makes sense
@Lucas.dxnkin4 жыл бұрын
DaDarkneZz thanks that worked need to work on it a bit tho
@dadarknezz4 жыл бұрын
This is what most of the work has to be put into :) Changing the sound/loudness and then having it consistent on first attempt is the two things that requires the most practice Good luck! :D

Is this a good first step to whistling for music?? I want to learn patience by guns n' roses Thank youuu!
@dadarknezz3 жыл бұрын
This is more of a wolf whistle, which i wouldn't recommend for whistling to music. I think it's just a normal whistling you're looking for :)
@veryhyped2 жыл бұрын
is this the right technique? like can you whistle really loud with this approach?
@veryhyped2 жыл бұрын
im asking because confused about the air gap
@dadarknezz2 жыл бұрын
As far as i can see, this is the method that most people use when whistling without fingers, so if you see others doing it, then this is most likely the same. But yes, you can practice making the whistle louder by increasing the preassure - it does require some practice though

It's a little hard to explain properly on text. I think the best wat to understand it is by looking at the drawing i made in the video. ^.^

Does my tongue need to touch the upper teeth, or it doesnt matter?
@dadarknezz4 жыл бұрын
I think they just barely doesn't touch the upper front teeth (the 2 teeth at the front), like 0.1mm from them. But the tongue touches some of the other upper teeth to the sides :) If it wasn't clear enough feel free to comment :D And good luck!

@@dadarknezz I get it man! Ionly can make it at low voice though, and I want to know how to position my lower lip in the upper teeth? Does the lower lip go very high up, or between the upper teeth and the tongue
@dadarknezz4 жыл бұрын
@@fazehartjon6105 You put you put your lower lip like when you bite it. Then lower it just slightly so there can just barely come any air through the very small gap. Then place your tongue in the gap to block the air, and try moving the tongue straight back, to get a slight amount of air exit the mouth. You should mainly play around with tongue placement to get a small sound. When you've gotten the small sound you should start adding pressure to make it more of a wolf whistle. Did that explain it?
@fazehartjon61054 жыл бұрын
@@dadarknezz yep, it did explain it, I am getting a small sound but now I need to make it higher like wolf whistle

@dadarknezz2 жыл бұрын
Ohh that sounds good though. Sometimes you get closer and closer , but then after a break you feel like you're at the beginning. Don't worry though, that's pretty normal, and you're not where you started since it should be easier for you to find the right positioning again
