Day 150: Of requesting Levy to cover opposite coloured bishop endgames. Especially when you have a slight material advantage of being up by two or three pawns against your opponent and you both have opposite coloured bishops as well.

read how to reasses your chess. i covers opposite color bishops in that. for example if you have 2 bishops and 2 pawns up and the opponent has knight and bishop, trade your bishop for the knight that is the opposite color of the other bishop ur opponent has so u dont go into opposite coloured bishop endgames

Put your pawns on opposite color of opponent's bishop and once his bishop stops covering the square in front of your pawn push it and if it is attacked push it again. This is main rule. In game it would be easier to understand

Hey guys I think I may have spotted something levy might have missed at 47:07 when the h pawn is pushed threatening the queen can't u just take the Bishop leaving the queen hanging after pawn takes queen there is rook takes rook with check and after the king moves u pick up the second rook meaning you get a piece and two rooks for the queen which is winning. I'm only 1200 so please correct me if I'm wrong but I just thought it would be cool to point this out. Thanks for the great video levy love the content ♥️

At 39:17, after h4, I thought of hxg4, hxg3, Rxh8+, Ke7, Rxa8, which is two rooks and a bishop for a queen, so I was very proud of it and was wondering why Gotham didn't mention it. So, I went to the analysis board, and the engine played Qg1+, after which you either lose the other rook or you have to sacrifice both bishops to survive.

I thought the same thing: it looks like 2 rooks and a bishop for a queen. Both Qe3 and Qf2 seems annoying though.

@@parabolaaaaa4919 If Ne3, I castle long and feel fine. I think the only way black can compensate is to keep pressure. You can't move the knight back in a passive position, leaving the queen as the only attacker.

If I was 800 rated and an IM “hung” a piece, I would be very suspicious. I’d probably lose on time trying to figure out why I couldn’t take the piece 😂

Wow, really cool episode of how to win at Chess Gotham. Especially the last game, very well played. If I had that position I would properly lose since Im also not so high rated, just a 1622 for now, but I want to climb the ladder of the ratings. Keep up your great work and vids, love them all.
