I did this yesterday 4-10-2022. I’d only played fone craps for fun, never at a table. A shooter noticed me just observing and told me to pick a number, I picked 9. He shot a 9!! He gave me 10 bucks out of the winnings. I cautipusly placed the 10 bucks on the 8. He proceeded to shoot for over half an hour as I used your strategy with my profits, except I stopped pressing after having 256 bucks across the 4 thru 10. I pulled it all down right before he shot a 7. Then a couple shooters later he got the dice back and proceeded on another thirty minute roll. His gift of 10 bucks to me turned into 1500 bucks using this strategy!! If I would’ve kept pressing a bit more, who knows?? Crazy stuff for my first time ever! Thanks so much for ur vids, I know these rolls of his were outliers but man was it fun!!!

I've been trying this strategy for a few months now and have had mixed results. I had to adapt it for $15 tables because they are so prevalent around here. I worked it out that your initial bet needs to be $30 on the 6 and 8. When it hits (+$35), spread it to a $66 inside. Works pretty much the same way. It's a nice feeling when you get to the point where you have a small profit but are still in the game, and this strategy is great for catching shooters that get hot. PSOs, however, will kill you really quick if you don't have the bankroll.

Also I would like to caution against thinking that when you have a 6&8 you have "10" ways the win vs 6 ways to lose. I had an epiphany when I was studying parallel and series reliability systems in statistics. In simple terms, you can only ever win one of your bets. So you have 5 ways to win -or- 5 ways to win vs 6 ways to lose. The bets are a series reliably system and that system is only as strong as the weakest link in the system which is the seven. On the casinos side they have a parallel reliability system. One seven wins then both the 6&8. The only bets that I can think of (Excluding the high edge center bets) that the player can win in Parallel on are placing the 9 and playing it in the field or laying the 4 and 10 with a pass line bet to collect on seven as a frontline winner.
@ColorUp6 жыл бұрын
I kinda get the point of the theory you describe, and I do agree "10 ways to win" is not completely accurate...But out of 36 combinations 10 will cause me to win and 6 will cause me to lose, so if you look at it in relation to the total of 36 combinations it works, but the 6/8 straight up vs the 7...I don't know, I'm not great with math theory hahah interesting thoughts though, thank you for your feedback

GO check out the book by Zeke Feinberg: Pre- Setting Dice 'Beat the Bastard Casinos', your whole perspective will change in regards to the alleged power of the place bets. There is a chart in there that shows how powerful that 7 really is in terms of the combinations of all the other numbers. There are only 3 axis on each die and there are basically only 6 sets they can be arranged before the toss. It's a very long story but the chart tells a different story in regards to the outcomes of the randomness.

This is an excellent strategy for the Native American casinos near me where they charge a $1 ante for each come out roll. Now that they have dice instead of cards, the table minimum is $10. So, to avoid the 10% vig (or, when it was a $5 minimum, 20% vig!), I usually just play place bets. Going to give this a try in a couple of weeks - thanks for sharing your well thought out strategy.

I'll do this as I am collecting and pressing and when my profit for the shooter is near $100, then I'll flip my bets to $25-5, $30-6, $30-8 and $15 field. This way for those times that the shooter rolls, 3, 11, 11, 2, 3 etc I'll be getting paid instead of closer to that dreaded 7 coming.

Well you would have to play it differently. With $18 you can regress down after one win and cover the 5 and 9 with the winning. I'm a little confused. After the 44 you hit the point and pulled down a number. You won the next roll and put money back on the number you pulled down. Now after that you hit the nine and took the winnings and kept the $10 bet on the nine. The next roll you hit the 8 and pressed it up. Do you always press up the 6 and 8 then take the profit on the 5 and 9?

Hate $10 tables! This strategy looks pretty good. Think I might give it a try. So why burn through the bank roll instead of blending winnings with initial investment? @kevinjohnson45315 жыл бұрын
The 6/8 place bet pays 7:6. If you don't bet in multiples of 6 the casino will round your winnings down; you don't want to do that. So you would bet $12 on each. You have $24 bet. If you hit one you will get $14. So you now have $38. To bet all the inside bets you need $22 ($6 on the the 6,8 and $5 on the 5,9). I would probably leave the 6,8 at $12. So that's $34. Just rack the extra $4. When you hit the 5 or 9 press the other and rack the $5. Now collect and press as he said.

Not sure if this applies to anyone here, and maybe Color Up can provide some odds insight. Apparently California indian casinos use various configurations of cards to determine the roll of the dice once the dice is rolled. Example: One red die and one blue die. The shooter rolls and the red die has the higher number. Two cards are dealt from the shoe and placed on the table in the red square and the blue square. In this case the red card is turned over as the red die number is higher than the blue one. The two dice depicted on the card determines the dice roll, not the actual dice. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on if it reduces your odds or increases your odds. Thanks for the videos!

Don't know what the par is, but there's never any harm in betting 50 on the Don'ts. They have a very slight edge over the 'Do's', though people will tend to dispute that. And there's always the possibility of canceling it out with a corresponding Place or Buy bet if the shooter starts hitting all kinds of numbers right around your 'Don't' number and you get scared. That way you win a little no matter which way the dice fall.

No problem with playing the pass line, and if you want to shoot the dice, you will be required to bet the pass or don't pass. Obviously you are betting more and therefore putting more money at risk. There is no combinations of bets that eliminates the house advantage on each bet, so YES, combine, adjust any of the strategies you like. Find the way to play that you are most comfortable risking and enjoy the most. Hopefully you will have some beginners luck the first time you try :)
@biggawinnacrapsa38705 жыл бұрын
Just don't have a place bet on your point number if you also have a Pass Line bet unless you already have taken the maximum amount of odds allowed and want to do what they call 'double dip'. Otherwise you will be giving the house an unnecessary edge, as your place bet gives the house an edge while your odds bet behind your Pass Line bet does not.

You mention often to tip the dealers. I'm open to this as I consider myself a "tipper" in my everyday life like at restaurants, salons etc. I'm curious about what is appropriate for tipping? Is it like so much every so often. Based on winnings? What is a rule of thumb here? I certainly don't want to do this wrong and I'm just still learning and have not yet played for real.
@ColorUp5 жыл бұрын
There is no wrong, just like in your everyday life, you tip as you feel appropriate. I hope to do a video on tipping with a dealer but that’s not for awhile. If you are provided great and kind service and winning you might tip more. I know that’s not specific, but again, any tip you give should be appreciated.
@biggawinnacrapsa38705 жыл бұрын
If you have a winning session, just toss a red chip in the middle and say 'Horn High Yo for the dealers'. That should do it. Then stick around for the next roll to see if you won them anything. Even if you didn't, they'll appreciate the try, because eventually somebody will make that bet and one of the Horn numbers will hit and they'll get a nice tip.

Great video, good way to build on a $10 table. That's all I get to play on. Some suggestions, maybe not so much for but other viewers. Getting qualified shooters ala The Dice Doctor could cut down on the early flame outs. Look for a natural on the come out, 7 or 11, or making the first point. Or look for box numbers to repeat. It helps me.

Psssssst: read up on Blackjack - particularly 'card counting'. You will see that, way back when, a Mr. Thorp actually found a way to fleece the casinos. So what happened? He wrote a book or two. People started spreading the word, and now a counter is detected faster than an untended package ticking at a crowded market in Syria. Please let those of us who hallucinate that dice setting might have something to it, have our day before they arrange a means to cancel that out, too.

Bigga Winna Crapsa well the alligator wall is there to randomize rolls. Some casinos won’t allow you to set dice. Some casinos will take the dice if you take too long between rolls. Some DI players constantly complain that the casinos have made the tables bouncier... there are many things the casinos have done to curb the effects of dice control.

I have a amateur question about etiquette and communication with the dealer. Would it be helpful to them to describe your overall betting pattern ahead of time? Or will they understand certain phrases like "44 inside" because they are super common in craps lingo? It might be a cool concept for your videos if you flash on screen the exact phrase in quotes you should say to the dealer...when it is one that all competent craps dealers should know off hand. For this strategy: -"18 dollar 6 and 8" -"44 dollar inside" -"take down the (5 or 9)" -"press the X" The reasoning behind this line of thought for me is that the only time I'm ever in a casino is a Fri/Sat night...and craps tables are intimidatingly loud and crowded at those times...I don't wanna be slowing down the game and messing up the mojo. I've seen what happens when people reach out and accidentally hit the dice in midair, lol.
@ColorUp6 жыл бұрын
Steven Martin no need to describe what you are doing ahead of time, dealers will pick up on what you are doing very quickly unless you are making different bets every roll, but stick to a strategy and most likely they are aware what you are doing, they’ve seen it all. Great suggestion on showing verbiage, not sure I will add due to amount of editing that adds, but I should at least make a video with all the most common communications. Thanks for bringing this up!!
@hulenbryant56376 жыл бұрын
Steven Martin Thars a great idea for color up. I have found that dealers (and others at the table) will appreciate if you have some of the terminology down if you are walking up to a busy table. "54/52 Across" tells the dealer even bets on all the numbers (12 on 6 and 8 if they aren't the point. So rather having to tell them 5 different bets and him/her waiting to hear where you want the money to go he/she can hear one thing and know where all of your money needs to go. I've also found most craps players friendly and willing to share knowledge of the game, as.long as you don't hound someone. Bets on the inside of the table have some excitement but they're high house edge bets. 10%+. if you're at a casino sometime in the morning they often will have classes or you can catch an empty table and the dealers will gladly walk you through the verbiage.
@jatelviss6 жыл бұрын
Depends on your table and dealers. My dealers know me well because I have them piggy backing off of my bets and are more than welcome to adjust my bets accordingly. If the point is a 10 or 4 just put the dealer and $1 or $2 bet behind the pass line for a decent payout for them. I usually start at the table by myself and we chat a little bit before we even get to rolling the dice.

Funnily, this strat works better at the $5 level. You start out at $12 6/8 ($24 total). 1st hit pays $14, go to $22 inside for $16 locked in. 2nd hit pays $7 and you bring down the 5 or 9($5). That plus your $16 is $28, or a $4 profit. Now 1 variation I can see already is, after you lock in the profits of course, to go to the iron cross. This has you on all the numbers but 7. Yes the wins are smaller, but: there are more wins, the risk is the same, and you've already made money.

Not a dumb question. Yes you can make a place bet before the point, however by default they are not working and are “off” thus the puck marks them as off. You can have them working for the comeout roll by telling the dealer. He will put a small chip on your bet that says “on”

Here's a hint, in case you find yourself standing at a Craps table and everything you touch is turning to gold: avoid the temptation to turn your place and buy bets 'on' for the Comeout roll. Even though every roll of the dice has the same math behind it as every other roll, the simple fact is that once in awhile a shooter is going to 'get hot' and hold the dice for 20 or 30 minutes, or even longer if the Gods are smiling, and it will ALWAYS happen that the reason that they keep throwing and throwing is that their sevens come up at the exact right time: on the Comeout rolls. I have seen dozens of unusually long 'hands' over the years, but I have yet to see ONE where the shooter went the whole way with only rolling one seven - his final throw. So avoid the excess greed of trying to get paid on a place bet on the Comeout roll. Your failure to heed this advice will result in a seven coming up on the first Comeout roll that you have your bets 'working'.

@@beardown1995 I live in Baltimore not Vegas. There are 2 Casinos and they know they have a captive audience. Every once in a while they will have a $10 training table for the new dealers to work. Otherwise it is $15 and $25's.

I was going to guess, sounds like Maryland, most expensive in the nation I believe... sigh

What’s the reason for not playing the pass line here?
@ColorUp5 жыл бұрын
Pass line only required if you are shooting the dice. This strat just happens not to include that bet.

Seems like a good system. With the title “How to win at craps”, I’d like to have seen it actually win.

Yeah, with my videos I only roll strategies once on video, and the result is what it is. I don't manipulate the videos to make them all look like winners. I could, but I don't. Truth is, all strategies will work sometimes , but no strategy will work all of the time.

Colten Crowder good luck coloring up in MO!

Is this a genuine "Good luck" or is it sarcastic as in "you'll have a hard time coloring up in MO."? Should I be saving up to hit the table elsewhere?

Colten Crowder ha, it does sound sarcastic, but no it doesn’t matter where you play, the dice gods need to help out :) sincere good luck...on coloring up !!

I have a question don’t you have to beat at least $10 on each number at a $10 table??? I see you only have $5 on 5 &9
@ColorUp5 жыл бұрын
You are correct, each bet has to be at least $10 except the proportion bets in the center of table, either I made a mistake at some point in video, or the chips are stacked so that you can't see that there are two $5 chips

Love your videos! Still trying to decide which strategy to work with in Vegas next week. 3 2 1, this strategy, 3 point Molly, field press. I've always been a 3 point Molly player using the come bet, but I also play the feature at Luxor all the time. What strategies have you been consistent with while working with random shooters vs yourself with dice control? I do notice you just kind of chuck them just to show the strategy in place whereas some serious players like to set dice and try to will 12-18 times
@ColorUp6 жыл бұрын
Well I don't personally practice dice control, so I try to go with strategies that don't rely on long rolls, and can be conservative with random rolls.

@@ColorUp so what do you like in terms of walking up to a table in Vegas, and strategizing, let's say, if you played with $500 bankroll, and either $5-$10 mins?
