Do you know that the part is called for the manifold that gets stuck thank you

I believe they just call it a check ball but I certainly could be wrong. 30-98475t this is the part number for it OEM if you can track one down.

I used to add antifreeze but after all the water is drained there is no chance of it cracking and I didn't find any rust forming so I didn't bother with antifreeze. I did unbolt the thermostat cover and made sure it was dry .

That’s perfectly fine too but you just gotta make sure it’s all out the anti freeze acts as a rust preventative as well internally which is very helpful for longevity

Before I put my hoses back on I rub a dab of silicone to the neck where hoses attach. What this does is keep hoses from being such a bear to take off next year.

Yea that’s a great idea. I have always put a tiny bit of 2-4-c grease but silicone is probs better tbh I probs should’ve shown that in this video but wasn’t thinking of it at the time

@@outboardfinaticall good Sir at least people will get the idea I personally use Dow Corning 111 but anything is better than fighting those hoses. Thanks for a great video.

How to winterize if you do not have drain plugs???
@outboardfinatic3 ай бұрын
As long as we’re talking about 4.3s it’s Impossible to not have drains unless you have the blue knob style which is usually on the newer motors. There will always be way to drain both sides of the block and the manifolds. If there’s no blue drain plugs then a lot of times there will be brass metal ones. Sometimes they don’t have drains on the manifolds and you’ll just have to pull the hose to it off to drain it. But most have drains either under the manifold or in the back of the manifold and always a way to drain both sides of the block. I’ve never ran into any 4.3 I/O that didnt have drain plugs other than the blue knob style and they even have at least 2 drains plugs on them

@@outboardfinatic awesome thank you!

Negative. If the manifold corrodes through while it's sitting in the winter
@outboardfinatic3 ай бұрын
@@CoverYourAxe at that point you would already have water in your cylinders from just water circulating through the motor as the water mixes with the exhaust. So we would def have a problem and I would hope someone would know they have a problem especially with an issue like that is pretty easy to know if you have something going wrong with water being able to get into the cylinder. I get what ur saying but they should be filled with antifreeze especially on 4.3 for how easy they can crack
