I just learned what seems so difficult like an easy task. God bless you real good. This task is amazing. I trust that God will continue to use you to educate minds and prevent hazards. From this lesson, I can carefully examine a DB and wire a building. I believe so. But the issue now is how to handle multiple plugs or lights. Hope to find another link.

That double green lever switch is an isolator and can not trip on short circuit or over load. The white and green of the earth leakage switch on the other hand is an isolator, short circuit and overload protection as well as earth leakage protection.

Thanks very much, your video's have helped me a lot so far. What will happen if I put everything on earth leakage? Putting some stuff not on it will complicate things too much because I'm planning 2 rows of modules: top row for ONLY Escom, and bottom row for EITHER Escom OR Inverter via change over switch. (The bottom row will have its own neutral bar.) Furthermore, do I have to have 2-pole breakers (L+N) that lead to subpanels in my lapa and garage? The subpanels have their own L+N main switches.

I just recently upgraded my geyser element to 4000W and had to upgrade the breaker as well. My db still uses the old breakers and I discovered my geysers breaker had an in built isolater switch. However my geyser has an isolater in the roof about a meter away from it. Was it illegal for me to change the setup?

Can one use 2 single pole MCBs instead of a double pole main circuit breaker? I have a old jhb house with a faulty 80amp main supply cb and cannot get a 2p 80amp mains breaker, i can only find 2 80amp single pole breakers. Most houses are 63 amps can one step down to a 63amp supply from the original 80amps or does one need to keep the 80 amp breaker in place?
@lechzekjacobs27523 жыл бұрын
Great video, very well explained. I had no idea that added neutral bar fits perfectly into a samite rail. I've always just screwed them to the board. A quick glance at your main switch seems to indicate that it's an isolator (2 green toggles = no overload protection) instead of a circuit breaker (white + green = overload protection) in which case, your main switch won't trip on a fault. I suppose you were just using it for illustrative purposes?

Nice Content 🚀👍 Quick question, where can I get the specifications of cable sizes and current carrying capacity? 🇿🇦
@ecologicaltime4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Cable manufacturers specify these things. The only issue is current spec changes depending on how the cable is run. www.cse-distributors.co.uk/cable/technical-tables-useful-info/table-4e1a/ Generally its: 1mm=14A; 1.5mm=19A; 2.5mm=26A; 4mm=35A

Here in Zambia the Neutral Wire and Earth Wire are Connected together for bonding purpose. Is that correct Or a mistake?
