Here we go over how we wired an electric fan with thermostat control that turns only runs with the ignition on. We are installing this because after we installed AC, we now have heat issues while not moving. Once driving down the road the heat issue will go away due to the airflow of movement, but this is not a good solution, especially on the trail.

We did not install an electric fan for more HP, Torque, or better MPG, but we did see improvements even if sight both with the New AC on and off. We didn't Dyno the jeep, but the in the seat acceleration from a stop had a noticeable difference with our little 2.5L Jeep engine. The MPG just with the little driving we have been doing has improved about one MPG, with fuel prices right now every little bit helps.
The fan is not the only thing we have done to this Jeep, we have a lot of KZbin projects, so your results may vary from ours. We did the greatest performance gain project on this Jeep was the gear change going to 4:88 from 4:10. We have also replaced every senor, filter, plug, etc in KZbin videos making this little jeep run great.

We have a few more issues to work through, just not cooling. Think a jeep cost more to keep running than a boat. Love you Mom.

Good advice. On this jeep it is stripped so we have to remove the bottom hose.

ey man so quick question. I found an ignition source in my fuse box so have power to the relay. My problem now is the fan won’t kick in at temp. I’m running my sensor in the top radiator hose(tried bottom too) with an adapter the hose connects to with a bung for the sensor. I kept my stock sensor in the thermostat so that my gauge would still work too. I also ran a toggle to the inside cab incase sensor goes out. I’m running a 165 thermostat with 185 sensors. When my gauge shows 210 the fan still hasn’t kicked on. But works fine with the toggle. I bought a new sensor thinking that and tested it and didn’t kick on either. I can’t figure out why. I don’t think my gauge is off because the hoses feel hot to the touch and radiator steams a little. Any ideas ?

So the heat sensor is a switch on your negative power, that engages the relay, your positive should be constant. Sounds like a wiring issue. I created a wiring diagram on our website the link is in this video description.
@riffraffchoppers
@riffraffchoppers 6 ай бұрын
@@ChrisDoesWhat I have it wired same as you do. Iv gone over the wiring 5 times it’s wired right. I even have a toggle set up inside the cab and that wire is connected in with the black wire off the relay going to the sensor

@riffraffchoppers @ChrisDoesWhat I'm having the same issue, I have the same question. They both need to tighten down further otherwise they leak. When I tightened it down far enough to stop the leak I bent the hell out of the probe. Did you use a shorter temp probe?
@riffraffchoppers
@riffraffchoppers 13 күн бұрын
@@jamesdavis3250 ya man I did the online sensor up on the top hose that was better. I think they have smaller switches with stubby probes not that rounder longer one but I don’t think that will work either I don’t know how this guy got that done unless he mashed his too or used some kind of sealant you could maybe use high temp rtv silicone if you really don’t wanna use the inline adapter but it’s super easy to install and wire
