Mines been in for nearly two years using 240v. It’s great! I ran 12v during the build so it kinda all there. But when I connected the ‘switch’ (yes same red & black like yours-thank god I labeled it otherwise I would never have joined them together). But nothing turned on..,hmmm. I too couldn’t make sense of the diagram. I just figured the relay would get its power of the “50amp” line and therefore the switch wires would be just that, a rocker switch only required! But now I see your video and it makes sense. It required separate power AND switch. So thanks. NB: I did run the massive cables to take 50+amps OMG…ALL my wiring was taken to the next amp rating… weighs and cost a ton!

Legend!! I'm in Australia and couldn't find an Aussie that actually provided a wiring diagram for the switch - my Heater now works on 12v (and 240v... hehe). Thanks for a great, explanatory video!!

Hey just checking in... 3 months of using the water heater and everything has been perfect,! Great product!!

just picked one up today and had it installed. It was working when I left the installer’s shop but after only 2 hours it had stopped working and didn’t heat the water past 30 degrees. What a piece of you know what. FYI - running it on 12V

Weird. It's getting power but not heating up? Even when you adjust the temp on the unit??

@@transitvandiego had to replace the motherboard. With the new motherboard installed it ran like a dream all weekend.

Thanks for the explanation! I'm Aussie and can't make sense of their "instructions". The chap who manufacturers these is a lazy sod, when I rang him he could care less, appalling customer services. I suspect he knows a little about plumbing and tonne less about electricals 🤣 Australia has some strict compliance rules, I'm surprised his paperwork was acceptable enough to receive C-tick approval. Anyway, on behalf of all Australians I apologise 🤣🤣🤣

Honestly I have to admit it's a great little water heater. I have had no problems with that in about 6 months of nearly constant use. I have no complaints, but yeah, they best at customer serviris, not.

Thanks for pointing out that truly WEIRD 12v switching arrangement .... it is by no means clear either on the connector or in the instructions how to wire it. I was however a little unimpressed that you don't know what a Litre is (or Liter as you might spell it) .... A Litre is universal, anywhere in the world. Any related amount of Litres is a multiple or division by a thousand, like Metre is the road.(e.g. 1000 Metres is a KiloMetre, so you just just add or remove zeros as required whether it is distance or volume). Anyway, a 10 Litre tank in the USA is the same as a 10 Litre tank in Australia. Confusion would arise if you wanted it designated in Gallons because the US Gallon is around 3.5 Litres while in the rest of the world a Gallon is around 4.5 Litres. So it would be just over 2 Gallons in Australia but just under 3 Gallons in your part of the world .... arrrgh !!! Stick with Litres, it really is MUCH easier 🙂

So thanks for the positive response. Yeah, it's a pain in the ass that we have 2 systems and honestly. No one here understands metric systems when it comes to fluids. Me especially because I'm kind of a dummy. But I'm glad you got some value out of the video and if it helps your build, go forward quickly or more quickly more power to you. Mate!Good luck on your build. And reach out if you have any questions. I've built this video a while ago. And I'm done with my pill at this point. So if you want to check it out, go to like the link or something on the main page of this site. Haha, I'm Not like someone who makes a living off this. I just thought i'd throw some videos out there and honestly. My build is freaking legit so I know what i'm talking about ha ha

Have you tested the unit yet? I was also really surprised by their 50a fuse recommendation!

Yes, it's working great

I was about to install really big cables for this connection. But, I was like…wait a moment…the cable coming from the Duoetto mk2 is just 5mm. That is not supporting 50A. It is a big mistake from them to tell people to install it with 50A fuse. That is why the example of the blade connector got into fire. The diagram for the cable size is pretty simple (after looking at it for 2 months). It is like this: Current, Length (Twin) to area (sq mm). All the numbers are cable size in mm² I will give you an example: My connection is 6 meters away. So for 50A cable I should use a cable 25mm² to connect the water heater, ridiculous
