it's even funnier if you've already watched How To With John Wilson and then found this video-and you after awhile realize it's an insane collaboration of an advertisement with the genius of Nathan and also 100% completely unrelated to John Wilson but still a promotion for it without even saying what the show is in the end. and it's all in one sweet, sweet package.

@@ElectricSlevin I absolutely love the show- there's not a thing like it out there in the world, first of it's kind and shockingly real. I genuinly was enjoying watching john film strange things around the city, it felt inspirational. Then we kept seeing allot of nathan. The subtlety with which the joke of this video was revealed, SNL could never. I'm so disturbed and inspired and in awe of this video, glad i clicked on it.

"how to with john wilson" is the best show I've ever watched on broadcast television in my 35 years of life. Just hits on so many levels and really does make me feel like a revolution in media is upon us. we all feel this fundamental loneliness but what the show outlines is how similar to each other we all are. congratulations on making something that matters, I feel closer to the human race after watching this rather than divorced from it.

@emmettturner9452
@emmettturner9452 8 ай бұрын
@@Shiftarus The opposite of broad is narrow. “Broadcasts” go out indiscriminately in all directions from the broadcast tower for free. You can receive it at home, like paid cable, or anywhere else you take your equipment. Meanwhile, traditional cable can only be received at the subscribed location with a direct connection that you have to pay for. Even then, you won’t get HBO unless you pay extra. It doesn’t get much more “narrow” as far as television distribution goes unless you count Pay Per View.
@emmettturner9452
@emmettturner9452 8 ай бұрын
@@Shiftarus The radio station is still “broadcasted” whether your receiver (broken radio) works or not, so it was less about your receiving equipment than the way it was transmitted. Heck, the feast DirecTV and DiSH Network piracy was so rampant in Canada is because their laws said you were free to do whatever you wanted with the encrypted broadcast signal blanketing the whole hemisphere… so if you could break said encryption you could watch free satellite TV. Canadian law treated encrypted satellite transmissions the same as free TV broadcasts.

i was invited to a party at the Fielder Fype house. hundreds of people showed up and Nathan came out to get us "fyped" up. he kept asking us if we were ready to get "fype." everyone just kind of stared at him and then he explained "fype" was a word he had trademarked and there was lots of cool "fypey" merchandise available at the party. ultimately, I wasn't allowed into the party because I was taller than Nathan. there was literally a life-size cutout of Nathan outside the party and if you were taller than that they sent you home. overall tho, really fun experience and I learned a lot about business.

Andy Kaufman did something like this. He adopted 3 black teen boys to come live with him so he could teach them life skills. Well, maybe he did, maybe it was a joke. There’s a KZbin about it somewhere.

@@CooperDianeBob He’s one of dozens of “video essayists” that spawned after Every Frame a Painting (legitimate editors/film buffs with career experience) took off: he’s reeks, like they all do, of sophomores in film school, who think spending 30min to talk about a movie shows how much they have to say, when it really shows how little value they’re capable of providing in any meaningful form. One recent channel that actually analyzes films’ themes well, that’s well-written and not self-indulgent, is Screened. Compare one of their videos (or especially Every Frame a Painting’s) to Nerdwriter and you’ll see immediately why the latter is a complete hack.
