Thank you for your answer, I broke my 8th rib too. I was demoralized by some people saying it would take two months, but as you said, it's very good news that it will heal within 3 weeks. I want to return to sports without losing too much muscle and strength. I've already completed the first week. It doesn't hurt anymore. It hurts if I cough too hard or strain. I feel like it will pass quickly. Thank you, greetings from Turkey

I've popped an intercostal. Two weeks before any ache was noticeable. Still squatted every other day. Just keep going as your pain tolerance allows; shit heals.

Broken ribs are such a hindrance to live with. I broke 2 ribs. I'm a side sleeper, and you just cant do that for 6 weeks. You have to be careful brushing your tongue, cause if you trigger the gag reflex, its gonna hurt. No coughing, sneezing, or anything that causes instant abdominal tightening. I use to mow with a big troy built walk behind. Because my ribs, I could only turn the mower left...like a freakin gerbil with three legs. I was also a pot head, so that really was painful tryin to get stoned. Dont break ribs!

3 of my ribs were not broken, but rotated out of place from a car accident. No one figured it out until 6 months after, despite I immediately started at an orthopedic / 3x therapy. I was in TERRIBLE constant pain; impossible to breath, sneeze, cough. The orthopedic stated I'll have to live with the pain for the rest of my life & take 1,000mg naproxen. It was YEARS later finally had 1 person support me in seeing a chiropractor for the 1st time in my life. Chiropractor was my lifesaver! Finally back to normal and in place, breathing easily! :)

Rib injuries usually require 3-6 weeks to heal. Depends on the severity of the injury. The main thing is to refrain from doing things that increase pain. Stick to walking, deep breathing exercises, and some light stretching. It’s not something for which you should just train through the pain as you can damage your lungs or develop pneumonia if you screw around too much.

@@piyushkumar-me1nb It depends. I am still experiencing some pain from a major rib injury. Nothing was broken, but a lot of soft tissue damage. Sometimes soft tissue takes longer to heal than bones. That may be the case for anyone.

Would like to see a video on coming back after surgery especially for those up in age such as the 60s where I'm at. I tore my supraspinatus (high grade near full thickness) and after 6 weeks I have hardly any pain but I see the Ortho next week and I'm afraid he's going to recommend surgery. From what I've heard it could require 6 weeks in a sling and up to 6 months to regain 80% of the tendon strength back. At my age, I'm not sure l'll be able to regain the muscle mass and strength I'll surely lose over that time. If I'm given a choice of either surgery or staying away from anymore heavy benching and ohp I think I'd rather go with the latter. I'm pretty bummed out😢😢

Alan Thrall has made a rather disappointing video about being an SS coach. All the guppies and 1% bottom feeders are having a feast in the comments, usual cr@p!

@@james3876 probably doesn’t, but it’s disappointing that Alan is using his large KZbin channel to spread misinformation, even if there is a ‘humorous’ side to it.
