Hi Bear Campers, thanks for showing & explaining the work-steps, as well as for your advice to the assembly and in handling the working materials (Tools & Tips). I appreciate the fact that you work very accurately and precisely with the tools and working methods, and that you adhere to work safety. Some other DIY You T. also (often) show the quickest way to self-mutilate to end up in hospital. Do you moisten (for how long?) both sides of the flexible plywood plate, or only the side facing outwards (top). Looking forward to the next episode, best regards, Adi

Hey Adi, thank you for the comment. We wet both sides of the flexi Plywood, then stand it in the sunshine to drain off. We only use this technique during the summer months, in the winter we would use a steam box inside the workshop. Drying the wet timber is important, so you don't get mold growth.

Interesting video. Im just starting out building my own teardrop..how do find yours last with just screws and wood glue? Do they not eventually shake themselves to bits? Will be interesting to see how you go about waterproofing it. Thanks

@@mikeey_boy Hey Mikeey, we build our camper and with screws and wood glue. Not had anything shake apart yet. We’re planning on Fiberglass coating the shell, or wrapping it with Aluminium composite panel. What would you do?

@@BearCampers I'm going down the ply route but was planning to wrap the whole thing in fiberglass......but I suspect this will be as much work as the main build, logic being it will reinforce and also waterproof. You start to doubt yourself, I've seen some horror stories of ones on Facebook only a couple of years old and they are falling apart on journeys to reveal complete rot everywhere!

@@mikeey_boy Fiberglass seems sensible. I guess if they are not aired, they could start to rot. We use a lot of marine principles when we make the vans and teardrops. Like air vents, making sure there are no dead air spaces etc. Have you seen the top loading fridges?

@@BearCampers Yeh, the one I saw recently was only a few years old and had been built by a fairly well know company and it was an absolute right off! Yeh, been looking at fridges etc, planning to leave space and add one in the future due to cost. Are you mainly doing camper conversions?

@@mikeey_boy Wow that’s interesting. I’ll have to do some investigating. Sad for the customer tho. You would think that a big company would try to make it right with the client. We make a lot of campers, but we have made curvy cabinets for boats, campers, caravans even planes! Are you going to put your Build on KZbin?
