well you've cheered my Sunday morning up in a world of uncertainty lol Would have liked to have seen. 1. it when it was finished. 2. how plumb that joint was for the next length butting up to it.. or is it contract ad a cut through paper. 3. do you do that with 'papers' and with a pattern. I'm the UK.... and having been to P&D college it's not something taught to go around in one on big returns, due to the problems you explained. It's a thing alot of DIYers do and find they get the bubble corners, like internals, where they go around in one.. and get a caravan bubble corner too. On externals that you can't rely on being true, I'd cut down a length, bring it around by about 1/4" and then with the off cut; you re hang and plumb it to the wall, overlapping onto that 1/4" corner over lap, keeping a fraction from the actual corner.... as not to give a raw edge that could get damaged by people brushing against it. If you have old houses or bad plastering you may be having to re adjust and trim off your papers accordingly.. which can lose a bit of pattern, but as long as you try and match it the best you can at eye level, you can't do anymore. Is that something you do over there?

Hello Spencer. Can you fix Buble corner with a heat gun?
@davidphillips7445 жыл бұрын
Never had to use heat on any external corner even when the corner is out of plumb.your stretching the paper which isnt naturally meant to stretch.if you did this with a patterned paper you would lose your plumbed line and the pattern

David , you make an interesting comment that that that I have done this with hatter and commercial vinyl and it matches up just beautiful… Let me ask you… How do you make your corners laydown with the vinyl?

@@spencercolgan hi Spencer.and good day to you.i ve been tampering with different methods over the years or should I say products and although your heat applying technique seems to do the trick for you but only really on non patterned contract vinyl it seems. I ve been using ever build contact adhesive and bostick adhesive but you have to work quite fast so just naturally stretching the paper round the corners seems to work for me.not done a great deal of wide vinyl hanging this year but I would say I'm very competent in splicing my seems so I tent to just take my paper round the corners by no more than 30 mm and tidy that corned up.i ve been using the surgical scarpul blade for thick vinyl.very very sharp and very neat and you dont need to change the blades as often as Stanley knifes.good to see you take pride in your work tho.over in England we have to focus on time aswell as quality to earn a decent living wage I'm affraid so we always have to come up with quick ways of doing things

@@spencercolgan I'm sure if you looked online .places like amazon you could find the products easily enough.not sure about American brands.with the wide contract vinyl been an expensive product it's always good just to go with what's comfortable for you.your methods work for you and mine do for me.over here companys are strict with time frame for jobs so it maybe a lot quicker

What if you have textured wallpaper? Wouldn't the pattern stretch? Thanks.
@spencercolgan9 ай бұрын
Heating it up just makes it conform to the corner. there’s another way you can do it. you can take too smoother and make the friction by rubbing them up and down the corner over the wall; if it has texture, you may stretch it, but you would not do that if it had texture

I've seen other videos that show using two spreaders coming down to crease the corner... Have you had experience with that and still prefer the heat gun technique? What are your thoughts, pros, cons of each technique?

Two smoothers work great but and I prefer 2 then just 1. But you need heat too Use 2 plus heat

How do you deal with rounded corners?
@spencercolgan3 жыл бұрын
Stephanie, you extend your wallpaper approximately 2 inches past the centre of the curve; then, you use a very tacky wallpaper adhesive… I recommend Roman 535 and then bend the wallpaper around the curve; let it dry in order to keep the wallpaper attached to the rounded curve, I would like you to use tape on the very edge of the wallpaper in order to keep your wallpaper against the curve; do not put the adhesive under the entire access because of a stick you just want to put the paste underneath the wallpaper where it will meet approximately half of the curve; you can also use pushpins for the wallpaper if you cannot use adhesive; then with a laser level or another levelling device, you will make a plumbline showing you what is straight and you will do that right in the centre of your curve; using a straight edge, against your laser level or your level, you now cut straight down against your straight edge that will be guided either by your laser level, or by your level. If you have found this helpful, which I hope you did, please give me a five star review on the following link and please do me a favour… Say something nice about my willingness to help you and how I have helped you with my videos www.google.com/search?q=tampa%20wallpaper%20installer&tbm=#lkt=LocalPoiReviews&trex=m_t:lcl_akp,rc_f:nav,rc_ludocids:18168418332679895040,rc_q:Spencer%2520Colgan%2520-%2520Wallpaper%2520Installer,ru_q:Spencer%2520Colgan%2520-%2520Wallpaper%2520Installer,trex_id:XCBBr
