It's also important to note that Endeavor confirmed in the manga that he's solved the most conflicts of any hero in history (supposedly) and yet All Might is still considered a far superior hero and the Symbol of Peace. That shows the whole point of All Might as a character and the dynamic between him and Endeavor, being a hero is not about saving a lot of people, it's about making people safe, which is not always the same thing

Diego Tejada that makes endeavor the top hero but Endeavor is not as inspirational as all might and when you're talking about the title of symbol of peace it's the hero who inspires the most people to do the most good and while Endeavor is very effective even more so than all might at the actual job of being a hero because of his attitude he will never inspire like all might does

Diego Tejada Excellent points but I also argue it is more than just that. It is about charisma and instilling the belief that things will be fine. No matter how dire they are. All Might I argue is the perfect encapsulation of what Superman is at his best. A caricature from a cheesy and romanticized era, but an important one in that it represents how we as a society want to aim for a better tomorrow and how he want to believe in that future. All Might clearly demonstrate that in this world.

He tried to make a new sport using a spherical object as the center, he called it Ball Might. In his youth, he was a street fighter, his name in fights was Brawl Might. He hates that people know this, but he's really from the American South, and sometimes he slips into his old accent and says, "Ya'll might" Here's a really hard to find fact, his secret identity when not as a hero, he is the mild-mannered Paul Might.

Marco Mata he said that with each transfer the power stockpiles more. No matter what the next holder of One For All will be more powerful than the previous. Now the difference in power depends on the person. I’ve been under the assumption that if All Might gave O.F.A. to Bakugo the stockpile of power would be larger than the stockpile of power from Midoryia. Not to even mention the fact Midoryia has unlocked O.F.A.’s special ability, which puts him in a class above ALL the holders of O.F.A.. Once Deku holds O.F.A. at 100% and he gains full control of its special ability, Deku’s power will dwarf All Might’s.

A lot of people think the Nomu vs All Might fight is what the end-story strength level will be, but All Might says in his prime it would've taken a lot less, meaning end-story strength should be higher than this. Also, all for one is a stockpiling power, so as it moves on to deku it will be stronger than it was for All Might.

He's also an overpowered character done right, because he's not untouchable. Most OP characters in Shonen, are these strong figures that the main character looks up to, and the main character has little one on one connection with. In this anime, All Might isn't just there for show. When he's in his normal form, he's like any other person. He's more down to earth. He's kind, caring and compassionate. All Might doesn't show up, say an inspiring line, and then fly off into the sunset. He's there to mentor Midoriya. He may have had a mortal wound inflicted on him, but he's still doing all he can, especially in his normal form.

When I watched the first episode, I was honestly glad that All Might didn’t end up being a total jerk. The trope of the main character’s hero turning out to be a horrible person has been done so many times it’s practically a cliche at this point. While Small Might certainly surprised Izuku, he turned out to be just as good of a person he was expecting, if not even better.

4:36 YES !! Finally someone mentions that scene !! I remember the first time I watched it I thought it was the most epic scene of the entire show. Later I thought about it and tried to figure out why it was so epic and this is what I think. The first time we see All Might in the series is when Deku watches the video. Than there are three symbolic elements that are introduced at the same time : the music, the fact that he smiles while saving people and finally his catchphrase : "Watashi Ga Kita". Those are the three elements we immediately associate with him. Then when he arrives at the most desperate moment to save the day at the end of ep 11, before even seeing him we can here his theme song, which is already comforting, then of course we're expecting him to say his catchphrase with a smile. But for the first time in the entire show, when he says it, he's not smiling. This kind of deconstruction of symbolism is pure cinematic greatness. It wouldn't have had the same impact if he smiled. The autor understood that in the manga, and they completly nailed it in the anime. Anyway, glad you noticed it and great video.

Great video, man. What I adore about All Might, aside from his writing and relationship with Midoriya, is how well he is used in the narrative. All Might is on a ticking clock. He's been injured and thus reducing his capabilities. On top of that, his powers are going away. So really, every fight we've seen All Might in I argue has been effective. Why? Because A) there is genuine tension when he fights because we don't know whether or not this fight will be his last and B) we're sparingly shown just how powerful he is. And really, it leaves a lot to imagine just how strong All Might was in his prime. Also, the idea of smiling in the face of adversity as not only a way to cope with it but to help others cope with it; I adore it. All Might embodies more of Superman than actual Superman is in the movies.

I don’t think we’ve really seen the ceiling for the power though, because all might says during the fight with nomu that in his prime he would’ve beaten him in 3 punches but now it took him over 300, so it’s at least 100 times what we’ve seen, also because of how all for one works with storing and adding the power of all its users up then Midoria will be stronger that all might because his power will be added to all for one making it stronger.

I’m pretty sure the gusts of wind aren’t necessarily caused by force from the punches or flicks, but from the quirk One for All itself. It is classified as an emitter type quirk and NOT a transformation quirk. There was a Film Theory about All Might’s transformation being its own separate quirk that was useless before inheriting One for All as it only changed his appearance, but not his strength.

Hate to brake it to you but MHA does use Strength equals power, though it isn't the only theme it uses. That's why A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun were better in terms of not going for the cliche since they used more original powers (Not all of them were original obviously) and a wider variety and it was only in 1 city unlike the entire world in MHA(which lacks in the variety of powers).
