hello sir, I sent out resumes for the last 2 to 3 weeks with only 1 response. I fixed my resume based on your method above and got a call the following day for an interview. This just happened in August 2020. This information is still very relevant and applicable following today's job market despite everything going on with the pandemic. Thank you again.

At first I thought I was beyond such a back to basics tutorial, then I reminded myself “if my current résumé is so good, then why am I not getting any interviews?”. I kept watching and learned a lot. I’m now completely rewriting my resume using this approach. Thank you Don 🙏

Don, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I followed all the directions in this video and got selected for an interview. I sent a nice cover letter too but they said it was the resume they took interest in. God bless you! Blessings to all who read this!

Professor Austin! I notice that in one of your videos you discourage the use of an objective section as passe, instead encouraging use of a brief profile. This seems to be at odds with the information presented here - is there a middle way?

Thanks Don ... Very thorough and helpful explanation. Working for about 15 years as a design engineer in oil and gas facilities, my experience is based on projects completed for employers. Hence, I would like to know if I need to fit project titles under each employer or have a dedicated "PROJECTS" section. Please note that listing all projects (the small and big ones) would make a longer CV. Also, please advise on including professional registeration (e.g. PE or PMP) in the resume under which section. Cheers

I've worked for an outsourcing firm for the last ten years and have supported 4 different clients in 2 different states. My job title for the last 3 clients has been the same and so has the role just in different industries. How do I list this on a resume? Employer date - date Client A Client B Client C * Achievements *Achievements *Achiements OR Employer/Client A date - date *Achievements Employer/Client B date - date * Achiements ETC.....

Don, your explanations and approach to resume writing is indeed fantastic. But how long can a resume objective be? Is it right to include independent career experience in resume; and if your answer is in the affirmative, how do I go about it in the resume?

Like your presentation. Very straightforward and easy to follow except for percentage numbers for any increase or reduction of any issue. Very often it is not possible to come out with your progress in percentage. I am a scientist(Geologist). How you are going to answer if you are challenged to explain the growth or reduction in percentage. Exploration ventures are unpredictable in all aspects of results.

I've been hear more and more objective statement is outdated. My last several resume/CV writers didn't include one. Of course I keep hearing many things now date resumes. Even having an AOL, Hotmail, or Yahoo email is now seen as you being dated.

in this case, one resume will not catch all, there are simply too many areas. in each case, target a few industries or employers in particular, then craft your objective (and other sections) to that industry+position
