Great stuff. I don't think anyone without experience understands how much work goes into trailers. Track stacks/groups are your best friend.

I love how there's no technical, many-layered reasoning behind any of the inspiration for the design. "It just feels good". FINALLY, someone who's honest about it. As much of a genius as he is, I highly doubt John Williams is really thinking "I'm going to write this in the mixolydian of D and here I shall resolve from the tonic 6-4 inversion to ...." No, damnit, it sounded right, it felt right, so that's what he composed. We would do well to stop over-analyzing it.

This is my favorite 2 hour cue so far! Not only is it crafted well, it is composed perfectly for an appropriate tense action scene. Sometimes we over think stuff but you mentioned the “vibe” several times... Thanks for reminding us that the ‘vibe’ is critical! The emotion that a cue creates is everything!!! #inspired

thanks for the video :) its a powerful track! humble clarification: portato: using one note on a bow, separated (detaché) with a slight gravity to it. marcato: using one note on a (down) bow with a forceful accent spiccato: short notes on alternate bow which is bouncing a bit staccato: short notes legato: notes tied together ricochet/ saltando: falling bow

Hello Neil..., as these videos are OUTSTANDING in terms of inspiration, instruction, and craft building, in 'this' particular session, it would have been even more EPIC had you allowed us access to the complete and entire 2-hour process. So much is edited out and again, there's so much there too (smiles). I honestly know that I would gain so much more valuable knowledge if I was able to watch your complete process of each asset being placed and introduced in the timeline. Does anyone know of "any" TUTORIALS like that...(??) Again Neil, thank you from my heart, for what you have shared. ~jaythan

Great stuff! I'm using a lot of Heavocity stuff. Great libraries! I have a question. So, all this tracks are going thru Bricasti? Are you using any vst reverb plugins?
@Heavyocitymedia5 жыл бұрын
Yes some of the tracks are going to 2 Bricasti's. One is a set to a hall and the other is a large wooden room. I'm also using an altiverb for the long low string Brahms in the intro with a very long reverb tail.
